Title: A very slight humming noise
Post by: riddler on April 01, 2007, 12:01:47 am
What do I make of a very faint humming noise that I can hear when the jets are not running ? I have a Caldera Martinique and  I havent really ever noticed it before and my spa is about 2 1/2 years old. Should I be concerned , or maybe ill monitor it and make sure it doesnt get any worse in the next couple of days. Thanks !

My Sundance Cameo just started making a humming noise yesterday afternoon.  My husband said something about a contact something or other.  He turned the power off and then back on again to see if it would go away but it didn't. He's going to look at it today and if he can't fix it I'll have to put in a service call.  It's not loud but it's louder than it has been in the past so I know that there's something wrong.

O.K I will agree it may be the circ pump. Does it mean anything when its humming a bit ?  I cant really hear it today but if I notice that it gets worse ill put in a service call. You gotta like the 5 year warrenty.

In my experience, it's rarely the circ pump. One of the huge advantages of these is that they are suppose to be whisper quiet. I've heard this complaint many times but it's usually the jet pump on low (or filtration) speed where you hear this humming.

Either way, I would check the mounting bolts where the pump is secured to the floor and make sure they're tight.

Mine started doing that (humming). It got progressively louder and I could feel a vibration. It was the circulation pump, supposed to be an easy fix though.

Noticed my Hot Springs Sovereign Silent 5000 circulation pump hums when I have power source plugged in without spa running, Circ pump is bolted down tightly, but my main concern is circ pump gets very hot. Also, pool is not heating, except for luke warm temp. Please advise, thanks. David
