Title: Artesian Santa Cruz - A Good Spa? A Good Deal?
Post by: Spa1960 on December 17, 2006, 06:45:15 pm
:) I am very close to purchasing a Santa Cruz:
It has 30 jets, the 24 hour circ pump option, Ozonator, synthetic skirt and a 3-year warranty. I am considering the two-speed 6HP pump (also avalible with two 3HP single speed pumps). The price is $6200 (what do you think?) :the dealer said he would include cover lift, steps, start-up chemicals and delivery. I live in NE.

Also anyone have any comments on the Santa Cruz (or Artesian Island Spas)?

Thanks

Spa1960,

I sorry I can't help you with American pricing,  but I can tell you that there are a number of Artesian owners on this site and there are happy with thier tubs

$6200 seems like a good price but prices all over the contry are different. I paid $6700 for the Cayman but that was 2004 pricing and I think the prices have gone up on all Artesian spas about $900 to $1200 in the 2 years.

As far as the pumps - I would opt for the 2 - 3 HP pumps vs 1 - 6 HP pump. It would be nice to have an area that doesn't have jets on if someone doesn't want it. Yes, you got diverter valve(s) but then all 6 HP is going to those jets. I don't know how the tub is configured as far as diverter(s)/pumps but for me diversity would be what I'm looking at.

Owning one I will say that the jets are gentle when the air is off and very strong when the air is on. I have all 1 speed pumps and I don't think I would use a low speed if I had one since I tend to like a vigorous message.

Well, it’s a done deal.  It has 30 jets, the 24 hour circ pump, Ozonator, synthetic skirt, two-speed 6HP pump and a 3-year warranty: the dealer included cover lift, steps, start-up chemicals (including Nature2) and delivery.  Wish me luck!!
