Title: An Ohio State SHUTOUT makes everyone a winner
Post by: rick_in_cleveland on November 14, 2006, 04:15:28 pm
The local Hot Springs dealer had a great promotion this past weekend.  By any Hot Springs Spa and if (when) Ohio State shuts out Michigan they will refund your entire purchase price.  Should have changed from my Marquis to a Hot Springs.

OH.....IO

So, an Ohio state win doesn't necessarily make anyone a winner. Only a shut out, and then only a Hot Spring purchaser, and only from that dealer. Good luck with that.

LOL, maybe they could deduct $100 for every point Ohio St scores! These promotions are designed to peak interest, not bankrupt the owners.

It's like the hole-in-one/win-a-car contests. It's very unlikely it'll happen AND there is special insurance you take out to cover you in the unlikely event it does occur.

Hell freezes over.  I suppose technically, twice in 6 years is remotely possible.

Hey Rick,  Do you know what kind of car Jim Tressel owns?

Looks like pigs have flown quite a bit.  Last time I looked, Michigan has shutout OSU 25 times.

That HS offer looks pretty good.

And hell froze over 57 times.  Overall record 57 -- 39 -- 6

Note to the state up north  ;) The 21st century has arrived.  Recalculate those numbers for this century and get back to me.  Or just the Lloyd Carr area if you prefer.  Great 104 soak in the hot tub last night.

6 in a row in Hi-def!

Yes, if you only use certain years and one coach, its possible to spin the numbers to make the Buckeys look like the superior team overall.  I'm used to spin, I work with government.

I know WDGA stands for Wisconsin Dairy Goat Association, but whats the rest?

You must play the MP3 file at the bottom of my signature for the answer to that one. (Guaranteed no-profanity or viruses)

I confused. Is this the same Ohio state that gave us such outstanding people like Archie Griffin and the infamous Maurice  Clarett. Very productive citizens they have turned out from OSU. I guess that doesn't matter as long as the team keeps winning. I'll take good old Penn State with Joe Paterno. Less criminals but better citizens.

LOL, you know your football program has gone into the tank (relative to past glory) when their theme has become "we put out better citizens".

What are you confused about?  I'm a Pennsylvania native and even without recent memory I can come up with a couple of PSU mitfits! (I played on the field at Beaver Stadium by the way) BTW,  OSU didn't "turn out" maurice in the terms you meant.  Flushed out would be a better term.

:)  Just for this week.  This is the only week I let this go overboard.  In reality I recognize one of the finest hunting, fishing, and camping state, and I'm sure there are a few other good things about Michigan. (Thats the OSU alumni chorus by the way)

PS- Don't drive 1 mph over the limit this week in Michigan if you have Ohio plates. I still refuse to pay that ticket. Good thing there is a statute of limitations! (Pre computer-era)

I think you may be partially dyslexic.

I'll say Michigan 31, Ohio St 24.

I think Bill should keep track and whomever gets the winner right and the score closest gets a blue ribbon next to their name.

The U of M marching band is supposed to play at the HS playoff game in Gahanna friday night. I don't know how or why the are going to do it, but I've got to get extra officers there.

I'll bet rubber bullets hitting sousaphones would be hillarious.    Try hitting the bass drum too.

Our main function will most likely be keeping the U of M "hotties" from grazing during halftime.

GO BUCKS in a 48 to 28 a$$kicking

The results are much more positive in this century where Michigan is 1-4.

In the sense of playing someone new,   I wouldn't mind that.  As long as its not Michigan again.

I don't necessarily want to see a rematch either BUT unless USC does something to convince me otherwise (like a convincing win for once over a good team and they better hammer ND) Michigan/OSU are the two best teams in the nation and Michigan deserves the chance to see what they can do against the buckeyes on a neutral field. I know the Florida/Ark/ND fans want their chance too but their losses weren't nailbiterrs against the No.1 team on the road and they should have taken care of business when they had the chance.

(I'm not a Michigan fan BTW, Syracuse and Nebraska are my teams so there is no bias in my opinion here).
