Title: Replacement Spa Pack Recommendation
Post by: cnin on October 30, 2006, 02:37:38 pm
Hi Everyone,

I am in the process of replacing the pumps, heater, blower, etc in my spa.  Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation for purchasing a new spa pack... I'm currently leaning toward a electronic/digital pack from Spaguts.com.  I will be changing out the old pneumatic controls... from what I understand, it's not terribly difficult and I'm hoping to be able to do it myself.  Anyone have any experience with that company?   :-?

Don't know about the company, but we prefer Gecko brand packs and controls. We do several for people every year and are flawless.....so far.

I picked the tub up used... it's an Emerald Spa... from what I can tell it was a 1992 model.  The shell, jets and lines appear to be in good shape, but the control pack, although still functioning, is in very rough shape.  Lots of rust and one dead rodent that apparently met its demise in the blower.  I live in upper Michigan and I don't want to take the chance of making a giant Ice Cube in January!  For all of the necessary replacement parts including an ozonator, 3hp pump, blower, heater and control pack, I'm looking at about $800.00.
