Well we finally poured the cement floors on Monday.
This is the before picture

The cement is about two hours old

I will post pictures of the crane lifting the hot tub and the finished product in another couple of weeks.

That is one fortified-looking deck. I have never seen a steel and cement deck before. I'm looking forward to the final pics!

Just curious as to your reasons for going with a stell and cememt deck? Was it for low maintenance? Have you figured your costs over going with something more traditional and possibly using composite decking? You definately won't have any weight capacity issues. Best of luck on the remainder of the installation.

How will the guys access the spa to service it?

Hey....quick.....quick....before the concrete dries...
stamp it and stain it....
it adds very little to cost
and makes a major look difference.

like a solid great deck you'll enjoy for years!)

ZZ, you must be an iron worker/ Steel worker ???. ;)

I went with steel for safe load bearring as the deck is quite high, and also low maintenance. Steel also allows for a custom engineered design.

How will the guys access the spa to service it?
There is easy access from underneath, however a step ladder may be required.
Beachcomber has a feature they call Protect which is a full foam tub on all four sides and the machinery sits outside the tub under an insulated and vented box which is normally used as a step to get into the tub. This makes for really easy access to servicing and emptying the tub

Stamped concrete looks great.
I plan to put indoor outdoor carpet on the surface surrounding the Hot Tub.
It is much warmer and softer on the feet.
I will also be sealing the concrete to keep it from absorbing water. The carpet will just lay on the surface, not glued, for easy replacement.
I am thinking of installing LED rope lights around the perimeter of the Tub and will also install a hose bib at the tub level.
It will be interesting to see if my cover lifter will still work now that the tub is recessed.

No I am not a steel worker, however it sure helps to have very good friends who are in the steel fabrication business.

Whenever the rest of our 30 x 12 ft deck on the same level needs replacing I plan to use Steel Q deck and pour cement as well, as it is waterproof and maintenance free.

All I have to say is........Ra Ra Ra Ra Like Tim Taylor. I love it. Anybody who is into building stuff and home improvment projects and fixing things can't look at those pics and not get, well.......excited.
