I've got a few pics from our first HotSpring Tailgate Party at the Cowboys-Saints game last night.  I'll post them periodically on here for your enjoyment.

Got things started off the right way:

I gave a demo of the new HotSpring Water Care System (code named "Bubba Keg" for those in the know):

I took Tara and Tammy in the motorhome and helped them pick out the proper spa selling attire:

I think I did a pretty good job of it:

More to come....

You talked to this guy?

I work harder than he does.  If he didn't have me, very little would get done in this organization:

Believe me Bill, it is hard work!!!  I would rate it somewhere between  "lying by the pool all day drinking beer" and "lying by the pool all day eating ribs" on the work scale.

I spent my entire day off helping provide food and beverages for our customers:

We had 2 kegs of Bud Light and Miller Lite, as well as cases of Corona and Shiner Bock.  We had ribs, chicken, hot dogs, shrimp, and hot wings.

We had Sweet Nadine there playing some tunes:

We even had a stress relief technician who would let you sit in his lap whilst he stroked your hair and made cooing sounds:

And, of course, we had nice HotSpring Spas up and running for the folks!

As usual, several celebrities stopped by to party with us.

The Hilton Sisters made an appearance:

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie hopped in the spa:

The surviving New Kids on the Block were there relaxing before their blockbuster halftime performance:

And, of course, the legendary Texas heartthrob Duane Johnson was there posing with his adoring fans:

Duane is, of course, the star of the daytime soap opera "The Old and the Shiftless".

All that is nice, but did you sell any spas?

No sir, I personally didn't as it was my day off and was outside of my territory (I'm in Texas and the football game was in Shreveport, LA).  Crank, the Shreveport store manager, sold 2.  I had a few folks from Texas stop by and tell me they would come see me sometime soon.  We'll see.

It was more of a customer appreciation event and not really a sales event.  We get a lot of exposure from these and see some residual sales.

Of course you do.  It is just good business to do these kinds of affairs.  I wish you were my dealer.  On second thought, I probably couldn't afford to be buying a new tub every year.

All you gotta do is move to Texas!  Just think of all the other benefits associated with that move.  The hot tub would actually be at the bottom of the list compared to all the other great tidings that would come your way! :)

Some nice ladies enjoying themselves:

Ronnie, our service manager, making sure the water is just perfect for our guests:

The New Orleans Saints Cheerleaders and one Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader stopped by:

My favorite cousin and his lovely wife visited.  He is from the side of the family that has smallish heads:

The rains came and washed away our sins:

We polished off the last of the ribs and wings:

I ate too much:

and so did Tara:

Oh yeah.....How 'bout them Cowboys!!!

Wow, I can't believe what I have to do to pay the bills. What a great life Term. The only part I wouldn't like is working weekends.

I'm amazed at how much Hotsprings spends for marketing.

Actually, HotSpring didn't spend a dime for this event.  East Texas Spa (our company) didn't even spend that much.

What we do is something called "cross promotion" whereby we partner with like-minded companies to get more bang for the buck.  Home Depot provided patio furniture, grills, and did a lot of the cooking.  The television stations were trading us airtime to participate.  Some of the food was donated.

You have to spend money to make money.  The two spas we sold at the event paid for the whole shebang.  Every other residual sale is gravy. :)

Term,

I actually lived in Shreveport for a few short months several years ago.  I used to ride my motorcycle over to East Texas on the weekends.  Crossing the border from Louisiana into Texas was like a breath of fresh air.  I have a friend who teaches at Texas A&M, and I have been a guest lecturer there too, so once in a while I get over to Bryan/College Station. You live in a nice place.

Regards,

Bill

I feel the same way, Bill.  Every time I cross back over the border, I let out a big "Whhoooooopppp!!!!!" because it feels so good to be back in the Great State of Texas.  When I cross over from Arkansas, I actually want to get out and kiss the ground.

A&M's a fun place!  I used to bartend down there at the Red Lobster.  The Dixie Chicken is a mighty nice place to toss back some Shiner Bock, or at least it were back in them days.
