Title: HELP !!!!!!!  Water change and now nothing
Post by: jgirvine on August 22, 2006, 08:41:26 pm
Have a D1 Triad.
We drained it to do a water change yesterday.  Filled it back up with water.  Husband did not tell me about opening the air line(???)  now nothing is happening.  Can here the motor, but getting nothing else.....  any ideas as to what is wrong, and what I need to do?
Thanks

ok heres what ya do. If you have a dinerter valve on the spa loosen it or them til the air blows out , or on the pump there should be a little black knob loosen it til the air bleeds out.Loosening the diverter valve will do it.

It sounds like an air lock.

I think D1 tubs have circ pumps and diverter valves - here is what my dealer told me to do if I ever get an air lock - turn the tub off and open up the diverter valve ring on top of the tub. Listen for escaping air.

I have never had a bad air lock, I have had a little one and turning the tub off and on a couple of times along with turning the therapy pups on and off cleared it (saw bubbles).

Next time you refill, it is recommended that you take the hose and stick it in the filter hole - it forces the water into the pump and eleiminates the air.

Hope this helps!

I just changed my water this afternoon and had the same thing happen as Vinny described.  Pump 1 would turn on a second and back off.  Luckily after cycling it on and off about 3 times, it blew the air lock out and water starter flowing.

Got it, had to put the hose down the filter hole, wrap a towel around it to seal as best we could, then turn the water on, saw air bubbles just blow out.  Thanks for the help.  Really appreciate it.
