Title: Another Chemical ???
Post by: Garyjr on August 06, 2006, 11:13:51 am
We are scheduled to have our SunDance Maxxus delivered on Tuesday.  The dealer wants me to take a water sample to them once I start filling to ensure I buy the proper chemicals.  My question is since we own a swimming pool as well, how many of the chems can I use from my pool?  We shock the pool with litho shock, use 1" chorline tabs in a flater, we have ph increase, decrease and alkaline increase.  Can I use these in the hot tub as well as the pool?

Thanks,
Jr

DO NOT USE TRICHLOR PUCKS IN YOUR TUB!!!!

Other than that, most everything you use in the pool can be used in the tub. I don't know what Litho shock is, I'm assuming it's lithium chlorine and I believe that's OK but it has a very low % of chlorine from what I've read, dichlor has much more available chlorine.

One word of advice ... hot water behaves differently than pool water, I learned that early on in my hot tub ownership, but basically it's the same water care for both.

Enjoy your new tub.
