I hear a lot of people complain about their HS Soothing Seven Jets. I actually enjoy mine. Should they "Stay" or "Go". I say Stay.
-
Go, least used seat in my Grandee.
-
I don't care for them, but its the best seat for the 2 year old... so I don't care either way. I just think they shoulda made that seat a cool down seat in the Envoy if it wasn't gonna have therapuetic jets.
-
It's definitely not my favorite, but there are times that I enjoy just sitting in front of it and relaxing in the water swirling around me. My son likes it, as the harder jets tend to make him itchy.
-
Go
-
OK but not my favorite. I use the peak of the lounger as a cool down seat.
-
Stay on the Grandee. I use the seat primarily to hit the bottom of my feet with the jetstreams in the footwell, but the soothing sevens give something to keep my back busy without being overwhelming.
-
I like the Soothing Seven in my Landmark. I find it is a nice alternative to the more powerful jets in some of the other seats. If I want deep massage I slip to the seat next to the Soothing Seven or into the recliner with the whirling jets., but I like the Soothing Seven when I am not in the mood for a deep massage. It is as the name suggests...soothing.....
-
OK, it's about 50/50 so far. Any input from other HS owners or dealers? Where's Chas?
-
oops- sorry- I'm not an owner, just a wet- tester. I didn't read the title, apparently. Feel free to remove my opinion from the statistics
-
I really like the Soothing Seven jets. It's a different type massage and one that I personally enjoy. It doesn't beat the crap out of me like some of our other jets. They were designed for people that have fibromyalgia to give them a gentle massage. Those customers LOVE it, and that is it's purpose.

6 against 2 for is 50/50 ?!? I think the results speak volumes.

Wisoki,
You crack me up.
It was not 6/2 because several of us said while not our favorite seat, we didn't need to see it gone.
My math is closer to Gombo's, but I did have to take Calculus 3 times and thus why I dropped out of engineering and became a bartender. ;D
-
For me they are a complete waste of space.
-
Soothing Sevens are a keeper.
The whole idea for having several different types of jets is VARIETY. I don't always want to be pounded across the tub, sometimes I like a tickling massage....sometimes jets are off, sometimes I just drool over the tub, wondering if I'll finally have time to USE it again! ;)
Actually, I'd love to see HS offer replacements for ALL their jets. Each one could be replaced with something that's more to each customer's liking.....but, that would cause all sorts of other issues, I'm sure...... ::)

Wisoski, didn't you sell HS in the past? Are you saying you don't like the Seven?
-
I like the jets. I like the, get this, soothing feeling of them. The only problem I have with them is I have to scoot down a bit to get them on my upper shoulders. Otherwise they hit me mid-back in my Vanguard. The seat is overall too shallow for me unless I scoot down.
-
Have never, and dare I say will never.

Wisoki,
Ok, I'll bite. You're orignal reply was pretty harsh on HS.
You sell catalina, why do you consider Catalina to be a superior hot tub?

No, no, no...that was months ago. Now, Caldera is the best...or is it Jacuzzi again? It's hard to keep up with which one he's pitching lately. ;D

I'm serious. I know the Hotsprings is the most popular. And I think a good tub. Best in the world? Who frikin knows? But it's certainly not overpriced crap in my book. If it is, I'd like ( in non arjuna terms), to understand why.
Wisoki, Let's say I was looking at a Vanguard for $8200 delivered (Cover, steps, lifter and O3). What would you recomend if I walked into your store. Why is it better?
Thanks. :)
-
J-335, J-345 or J-365, the reasons all three are better are vast. On this Hot Springs laden board I won't even go into it. Stand on my show room floor, and I'd be happy to go over all the differences, otherwise I'm just going to sound Arjunaesque. :o

Over a year ago in fact. It was my choice for varrious reasons when a Rep from Jacuzzi pulled the line from me, and gave it to some one else who's out of business now. And still out of all the Cat's I sold they get the fewest calls for warranty claims. (might be a numbers thing.) When I brought ALL of my customers over into the new company to be serviced as if it were the old company, Caldera was the spa on our floor. The owner believed all the hype about fastest growing blah blah blah. I lobbied for and got (a year later) the Jacuzzi product and we are experienceing GREAT success with it. In some form or another, either in a show room or as a show team member, I have been selling Jacuzzi brand uninterupted for the last 15 + years. :P

Your right. That's does sounds like a load of crap that he would spew.

That's OK, I find you humorous too. ::)

Oh come on Wisoki. Honestly.
I sincerly asked you to explain why you thought your line of tubs were better.
You dodged it completely. I mean, youu didn't even come close to offering any info.
I even gave you a specific tub that i was familliar with so we could speak specifically to it. I had hoped for an honest and open dialogue.
Sorry to have asked you to explain yourself.
??? ::)

It's always interesting to hear someone's opinion of their spas but once the topic turns to why one is "better" or "best" I loose interest. It's akin to someone telling me how their baby is so beautiful they're thiniking about getting modeling pictures. OK, sure, I'm sure the modeling agency will agree when they charge you to make beautiful little Tiffany a star. I'm not going to argue with them but I'm also not going to necessarily take their opinion to heart as there is a bit of bias (and there's nothing wrong with that, I'd be more shocked if they weren't biased). I'd rather hear how someone's spa is good and what it's benefits are without having to use another spa to prop it up further.
-
And as I stated, come stand in front of me in my store and I will GLADLY show every difference which (for those of you who insist on political correctness) which in my not so humble opinion creates a superior product.

Just to be clear, I'm not the one that derailed this thread.

Very true my friend, but in 6 out of 2 times you will be blamed for it.... ;)

That I can handle ;)

I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself. I could have sworn he was a HotSpring man in the past? ;D

anyone think that the purpose of 7 low flowing jets might just be to raise the jet count by 7?
-

They are actually a high flow jet that produces a more comfortable (to some) feel. Those jets move a lot of water (don't ask me the gmp or psi cause I don't know or care) hence the reason they were removed from the 06' Jetsetter. They added the Dx Moto jet and in order to maintain the same pump package as a 110v spa, they could not keep the High Flow Soothing Seven jets in that spa.
A little FYI, the Soothing Seven Jets only make up two total jets in the HS jet counts. :o

Sigh.
It's frustrating when someone, espically a dealer, posts a replie that says "Brand X is an overpriced piece of crap" (which was the post, but later modifed) and a forum member asks "Why do you spefically feel that way? Can you explain it to me?" And they can't...well I don't even consider a humble opionion, it's more like mudslinging.
Once again the lament that this is a "Hotsprings laden board" is made, and an open invatation is given to showcase a spa line and explain what it's advantages are, they don't.
Just to be clear, the question wasn't answered. Sidestepped in an amatuer manner? Yes. Answered? No.

Ah, I see now. That's why you have to reply with their post with the direct quote because they can change their post but once you have it quoted they can't change that. I've made a few posts and gone back and changed before it could grabbed onto after realizing it was a bit over the top.

I have a HS Vista. We never use the soothing seven
-
Stay. Much as I in particular am not a big fan they do bring something else to the table. I'd like to see them removed on some of the models (which is why I love the Accolade and the new Jetsetter so much.)
-

I guess I'm as close to standing in your store right now as I may ever be. You have my attention, I'm not going to argue or bicker, I just would like to see the info you have promised. So please Frank, let's do it: tell me what features and/or benefits you feel make your tubs superior. This is your big chance now, don't miss the opportunity... there may be shoppers who would also like to hear about another tub they should go look at.
;)

Yes, let the class begin now. Maybe we can help some folks who are buying spas today.
-
Don't like them...
-
I dunno.
But folks looking to buy a hot tub, here's my opinion.
If a dealer claims the #1 selling brand of hots tubs is "an overpriced peice if crap" "
A good question to then ask is "Why? Can you explain why your brand is better?" If the dealer refuses to answer and puts his hands over his ears and does the "la la la la" I'm ignoring you" dance I'd strongly suggest finding another dealer.

Preferably one that has an intelect above a 4 yr old.
But that's just my $.02
-
I say stay! I love to sit with the soothing seven watching the stars and the 'hood is peaceful and quiet! Nice seat to end a good soak in! That's my opinion!
And it is good to see that some things don't change! ;D ;)

It may be juvenile, but since when is THAT not acceptable around here?
::) OK, he shouldn't have avoided your questions, but the little "ignore" guy is kinda funny.

I say Stay! Our earl 90s Sovereing doesn't have them so sometimes I sit in the show models to enjoy them. ::)

Hey fine with me...just don't make caustic mudslinging statements without explaining yourself and then expept to be taken serioulsy or have others respect your opinion.
Don't whine that only folks with Watkins tubs get heard when folks have begged you to take center stage and showcase your line. That's all.
-
Agreed. And that "your" was plural, by the way- not singling anyone out. I thought you (plural) gave him a respectful chance to have his say. I thought the little icon was more of a humor attempt on his part than anything else, that was my only point. Maybe I was wrong.

given the cadence of the coversation, what was said, and what wasn't. I took it as a giant middle finger being pointed my way.
-
I can see that. From the "outside" I saw humor, but your position in the conversation was definitely different than mine as mostly an observer.
-
I'll say this I think EVERY dealer here from time to time bites their tongue with some of the things that get posted and unless it is so clearly biased or inaccurate it slides by....I have mentioned before I think WE ALL believe in what we represent and I think some can be reasonably objective and see the value in some other product as well.....I do not think this is a good place to sit here and nit pick each others spas.....if we did we all would end selling Marquis..... ;)....lol....just kidding......really I do appreciate all I learn here from other dealers as well as owners.....I say Thank you to you all...... :D
