Title: Test Strips
Post by: Vinny on May 29, 2006, 02:00:57 pm
I had the first opportunity to "use" test strips. My neighbor is having a problem with their pool and showed me the results.

I felt useless - I really like my Taylor kit. Without having my numbers, I really didn't feel effective. I like having a PH of ---  but they show very low, low, OK, high ... on all the parameters.

I know lots of you use test strips but I will say that I am more than happy with the "complexity" of using the Taylor.

You can order one on-line at rhtubs.com.

Or you can purchase one at Leslies Pool Supplies (their own brand but exactly the same) ... even uses Taylor chemicals or at a poor/spa store. You want the equivilent to a K-2005 at Leslies (I believe it's their deluxe DPD test kit).

Thanks, just ordered one from Roberts.  Any idea how to get chlorine way down(put too much in) and total hardness up a bit?

Thanks,
Lee
