oops, I'm 2 days early on that. But they are giving away HUGE prizes!
An RV store near us was 'giving away huge prizes' once.
The grand prize was a 40'x40' tarp. First prize was a really long garden hose, Second prize was 'America,' (a two-nite pass to just about any RV park in North America)...
;D ;D

Glad to see someone else jumped the gun on that one. I've been on the phone all morning spreading the word to the ones that got away at the Homeshow.
I'm excited, I think with all the national advertising Jacuzzi will be doing along with the cool prizes, this will be a great summer promo.
So Wisoki if you won the dealer prize which one would you choose?

A tarp? A leangth of hose? 2 nights in a trialer park?
Was this for high end RV's or trailer park homes?
;)
I've seen better gifts at Time share presentations. ;)
-
Thanks for the heads up.
I'm sticking this one at the top so our members will have a reminder. I'll release it when the site is up.

You have it correct right jacuzzi.50.com and not jacuzzi50.com?
I checked and jacuzzi50.com is unavailable.

Technically, your probably right, I didn't think about it too much, your not really offended are you? We post links to the main corporate site and pics all the time. I thought it might be a service to members for the chance to win something. If you truely object, I'll remove the whole thread. - Or at least think about it.

It's ok Frank, I was checking to see WHICH 'huge' we were dealing with here..
;D ;D

Actually, I'm not eligable - Roy Jacuzzi is my dad.
:'(
-
I'm not offended for myself, I'm just upset for the Sundance folks on here that are trying to keep Jacuzzi from becoming the flagship brand. I imagine they're not going to be happy AT ALL.

Why you no good dirty rascal, that is NOT my site. I like my wife a lot, but she's really mean and no one could really love her as a person, least of all me.
http://www.ilovemyspa.com will help folks here keep a clear head when shopping for spas, especially the photo gallery.

Well when Sundance turns 50 they can all sing like birds and have a promo of their own. ::)

The more I know you the funnier I think you are! Oh, wait, I just contradicted myself, well, there i go posting things based on my emotions. I better get that checked.

No big deal Chas, I just like to offer clarification. I'm not elligable either, except for the sales contest. Pathetic little trip to Hawaii. Cheap bastards!

I'm just trying to keep a level playing field for all the little people. Thank you, but I'm no saint, just a concerned industry professional.

As long as I didn't piss anybody off, I couldn't live with myself then. I'm completely nuetral, and much to my own displeasure, I haven't taken any money or gifts from any manufacturer. (Well Chas did give me a duck, I guess I'll be before the House Ethics committee in no time!)

I was surprised Jacuzzi was 50 years old and I went over to Wikipedia to read the company history. Then I started to look for Hot Springs and others and didn't find much, so I went directly to the entry for Hot Tub.
Check this out:
"Although Jacuzzi is probably the best known brand name of spas, the company now concentrates on making bathroom fixtures. The spas currently sold under the Jaccuzzi brand name are actually made by Sundance. Other spas are manufactured by a wide range of mostly-boutique (small production) vendors."
Lol. All you knowledgable folks need to get over there and do some creative editing!!

A New England spa dealer claims that this is the first Jacuzzi Spa, manufactured in 1970. That was 36 years ago for those of you who didn't get past the 6th grade.

Please don't pull this thread....I think it is cool to let everyone on here know about the promo and have a chance at winning something. Wouldn't it be wild if one of the folks on here won a nice prize? I think it would be.... ;)

We're having a sales meeting with our rep on Thursday. I'll post more details as I know learn them.
-
I sold Kohler spas for awhile. The company was over 100 years old at that time - but they had just purchased a spa company.
So, in reality, they were a two year old spa company which was a new division of a compnay which was over 100 years old.
Jacuzzi has made many things for fifty years, just not spas.

Chas is right...kind of. Its true that 50 years ago there was no 8' x 8' box that held hot water and bubbles. What they created was a submersible pump that could go into a bathtub. That pump had the original design for a jet, on the end of it. It was a one man therapy center. It was called the J-300. It was introduced in May of 1956
It really was the first "Portable Spa"
-
Terminator, that's a great website. Maybe if we lived in Texas we would've went with the grandee and moto. However the hotsprings sales rep here in ohio was fake and stiff. Litehouse was worse they tried to rake me on the piper glen. Let's just say not all sales reps and/owners are created equal. love the pictures they show more about your business than just blood in the water sales techniques.

Thank you for your kind words. We do the best we can with what we've got. We're not saving the world, but we're making a lot of people happy. That's not a bad way to spend one's life. :)

Specificaly(sp?) the marketing says "50 years of hydrotherapy." Nobody is implying 50 years of hot tubs. As for Jacuzzi the family. They've been in business for well over 100 years. Their beginnings were in the aviation industry. They are the inventors of the first varriable pitched propeller, something that should interest you Chaz. Additionaly, they invented the first enclosed cockpit. (go ahead and say it Beavis) There is an entire wing of the Smithsonian devoted to the inventions of the jacuzzi family including the home hydrotherapy J-300.
Jacuzzi has made many things for fifty years, just not spas.

Aha, so the J-300 is the "flagship" spa!!!

How is it that this post always shows at the top of the list? Is this phenomena related to the mystery of how those old posts kept appearing out of the blue?
-
Was wondering the same thing.
Bill???

Read page 1, Bill put this post first so that everyone could get a chance to see it. ;)

Look at the little folder icon, he put a thumb tack in it so it stays up front. He wants to make sure everyone gets a chance to see info in the Jacuzzi Sweepstakes. I'm sure after a day or two, it will begin to slide, then in about a week, a new bee will log on and post a question like "Anybody heard about the Jacuzzi Contest?"

Yup, the site is now live! I may stop in and get my game piece today as I'll be having lunch in that area. Hopefully MJB from our board will give me the 2nd game piece without the wet test. Actually I wouldn't mind wet testing the 480 he has in his nice wet testing room, but I don't want to take up his time as there is no way I can/will buy right now. But from having seen the 480 on my last visit, I would consider it if I was buying.
-
I just printed off my entry form. I plan on heading over in a couple of hours to wet test a spa.
Crossing my fingers....
-
I just went over to print out my entry form. Glad I read the rules, I guess I needn't bother.
"1. ELIGIBILITY: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Open only to legal residents of the United States (excluding Florida, New York, Rhode Island and Puerto Rico) and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are eighteen (18 ) years or older on date of entry. Void in Florida, New York, Rhode Island, Puerto Rico, Quebec and where prohibited by law, rule, regulation or ordinance. "
"2. HOW TO OBTAIN A SCRATCH CARD: Beginning May 19, 2006 and ending September 30, 2006 or when all 100,000 scratch cards have been distributed (whichever comes first), Sponsor and all participating Jacuzzi Dealers will distribute scratch cards in the United States (excluding Florida, New York, Rhode Island and Puerto Rico) and Canada (excluding Quebec)."
What is the deal with that, anyway?!?
-
I wish there was a Jacuzzi dealer around here, but I can't recall ever seeing one. I just thought they were a local legend like Nessie or Fuzzy Lumpkins. Guess I can't enter. :'(
Terminator
-
Of course you can't enter: it specifically mentions "Ordinance."
;)
-
Showed up at the local Jacuzzi dealer. The first person didn't know anything about it. They got on the phone with someone else and confirmed the promotion and found the scratch tickets.
You have to get five matches. I had three of Italy, one car and one something else I could not tell what it was.
The second scratch card awared me $300 dollars off my next spa purchase. I didn't have to wet test the spa to get it. The spa water was very low and clowdy so I passed on the wet test.
Nice promotion but I was hoping for a Trip to Italy. Since the scratch tickets are not transferable it is just going to waste.
Let us know if there are any winners out there!
-
The $300 off your next spa purchase.
I wonder, is the Factory giving the dealer $300 toward the purchase, so that a true discount ($300 off the same deal someone without a "winning ticket" would get?)
Or does the dealer take the $300 hit resulting in funny math to give the apperance of $300 savings?
