Title: Too Much Water
Post by: paul on April 11, 2006, 01:57:01 am
Help!

My Optima's water level was too low so I added water.  However, I was not paying close attention and overfilled the tub.  The water level is now about 1-2 inches above the bottom of the headrests.  Do I need to drain it some?  Am I in danger of harming the tub if I don't?  If I drain it just a little to get the level right, do I need to follow the owner's manual instruction to turn off the power at the breaker?

Why play with the drain.  If you want to lower the water level a bit just bail it out with a bucket.

I would bail a little out until just below the bottom of the headrests.  Yes, use a bucket or a syphon.  You do not have to turn the power off as long as you now pay attention and don't take too much out. ;D

Be sure to turn your air blower on to purge any water that got over the loop.  It is possible to get water back to the blower this way and that will trip the breaker.  Turning th blower on will push air through the lines and clear them in necessary.

YOu could just put a hose up to one of the jets and turn them on.   In a few seconds you'll be ok.

I would keep the water line just below the headrests.

:D

I was going to say that this might be a great time to putz around and test out any syphon system you might plan to use at drain/fill time.... ;)

Or just invite a bunch of 5 years olds over.  Of course they could have it emptied faster than you want.

I believe WMCCALL has experience in this area.
