How high is your ph?

Ph will tend to rise in a balanced tub (due to heat and aeration) If your ph slowly rises, that is normal, adjust as needed.

hymbaw...........It right up there 8.2  I use ph down and then its up again  but then maybe its as you say just the norm....Thanks.........

I bought some of that once.  For a 425 gallon tub I had to had 3 POUNDS of it.  Thats 3 pounds of solids dissolved into your water.   I'd rather keep playing with the PH and adding ounces of stuff here and there.

Be careful with products that lock in pH. Most of them kick the calcium from the water, replacing it with a polymer. Where does the calcium go? Some gets trapped in your filter, to be rinsed out. The rest sticks to your heating element. Have seen some nicely coated. The bottle's directions fail to tell you to leave your heater off for 24 hrs. while the calium falls out of solution. Warranty departments do'nt like to see calcified heaters.

Mine had been high for a while. I added muric acid a tablespoon at a time till it was down to normal. The PH is stable now. I'm on Dichlor. But every third day I use activate. This seems to keep foaming down.
