Title: For Sale: Mint 2005 HS Envoy
Post by: Gomboman on January 22, 2006, 07:09:40 pm
I want to cry. I visited my local HS dealer today and  saw a new 2006 Envoy and 2006 Grandee. The Grandee had the new coastal cabinet, silver pearl shell, and stainless escutcheons. It looked absolutely beautiful.

The new exterior is a huge improvement. If the new exterior isn't upgradeable, and I'm sure it's not, I'm going to sell my spa and buy a new one.

For sale:
Three month old 2005 Envoy in perfect condition. Redwood exterior, Pearl Shell, Factory Freshwater III CD ozone, Cover Cradle I, Upgraded matching Redwood steps (the expensive ones), Babied, waxed and polished weekly, Southern California location. If interested, PM me with a reasonable offer.

They do look nice, don't they?  Wait until you see the other new colors.  I absolutely loved the Sterling Marble with the new cabinet and the stainless steel escutcheons.  Can't wait to get them in a couple of weeks.

Personally, I wouldn't fall for another pretty face. It'll cost you and you won't respect yourself in the morning. Before you know it, you'll be falling for next year's model and you'll feel abused and ashamed again.

Seriously, my advice is be happy with what you have and don't fall for the new fluff. Everything always evolves and changes!

Maybe I can become the first hot tub divorce on line attorney! ;D

For the average user does a Pentium 4 3.2 ghz processor perform better than your 2.8 ghz one?  On paper yes, depending on other factors this web  site might load .23 mseconds faster!

Why do automakers make only subtle changes to some models each year?

Just to get the people who have to have the latest and greatest.   Resist the hype!

Term, I believe that was the color of the Grandee on the showroom floor. The sales person called it silver pearl but it had a marble swirl to it. I'm sure she didn't know the correct description since it was brand new. It looked similar to Sundance's Platinum shell color--only better. It looked so good I almost threw up on the spot because I wanted it so bad.

My wife already said that she would leave me if I upgrade to the new model. I'm a sick puppy. I think I'm going to miss her...............

You most likely were looking at "Champagne Opal" which is truly a great color. I can remember when we offered the tubs in any color you wanted, as long as it was Ivory.

I'd also suggest just enjoying what you've already got.
Unless you find just the right buyer, you'll take a bath on the sale of your spa.  Listen the the wife on this one.

Yep, that's the Sterling Marble.  It's Ivory with darker striations swirled in and makes it look like a solid polished slab of marble.  I love it.  The Grandee, Vanguard, Sovereign, and Jetsetter are all available with it.

Bah, you're a big boy.  If you want a new spa, get it.  When trying to decide between the wife and the spa, you tell me which one gives you the most peace of mind, relaxation, therapy, comfort, quality of life, and ease of maintenance.  It's a no-brainer.

You're seriously gonna dump your 3 mo tub because the new ones have a different finish?  I have to belive you're joking ?

When the thing is full of water and blasting around, you can't tell really what color the shell is, or if the jets are S.S or not.

Keep us updated on what you decide, plus I'd be very intertested in what type of deal you make if you buy a new one.

This reminds me just a bit of last spring when I was motorcycle shopping.  I mentioned to the salesman that I needed to run my plans by the Mrs., and his reponse was "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission".

I thought that was pretty clever, but I also know what'd be the result of popping a few grand on a new toy without discussing it with the spouse first.
She can really hold a grudge a long time when she puts her mind to it.  Not to mention any retalitory shopping she'd do just to "teach me a lesson"

You got a good deal on it when you bought it, you could probably trade it in or sell it for what you paid... so I don't see the big deal about getting another.  Its not like you would lose money... but since you didn't respond to my PM I'm guessing you were just joking around.  I'll tell my friends to put the money back in the bank.   :)

Jeff,

My e mail seems to be down - at least I can't send. I would say go for it.

Hotspring Dealers,

What's the Kelly Blue Book value for my spa if I trade it in to a dealer? Also, what's a fair private party value? I have a couple of people interested. If you don't want to respond here please PM me.

Thanks

Drew, I like your posts too. I may sound nuts but I'm actually very conservative with my cash. It's a long story but I won't lose very much on the deal. The 06 Hotspring line is very impressive......

I ment my post in all good spirits....More along the lines of if we were having a couple of beers I'd look over and say "Dude, you're nuts. Your wife is going to flip when you tell her your hauling the tub out and putting in a new one with shiney trim. :^)   It's been nice knowing you Gomb ol buddy." ;)

As I mentioned earlier, If this idea does get legs, and you don't mind sharing the details, I'd be very curious to what the 05 is worth and what you swing on the 06.

in addition the dough,  I'd factor in tax, delivery etc.

I admit, you got me curious on takling a look at the new 06's  to see what the new trims look like.  :^)
