As a new tub owner I've been lurking around the past few months trying to get a feel for how to take care of everything and not wreck the spa. Almost everything has been answered but this one, hopefully simple question.
How does everyone get a new beer while sitting in the tub for an hour or so? I've been putting the beer on a chair a few feet away. Since it has been (record setting) below freezing here in St. Louis the temperature is really prohibitive to getting another beer.
I'm sure this might sound silly but what do all of you do in this situation? I know I don't have it as bad as a good number of you north of here, but what do you do?

Unless you keep your brews stashed far from the spa, you should be able to stand up, climb out, grab a beverage, and hop back into the tub before you get too cold. Or move your supply closer to the spa so you just reach over the side, or put a table nearby. There are a lot of easy solutions to this.
I remember using the spa in below zero temperatures last winter. I had a cup of just cola, no booze in it, and it kept freezing in the cup. I had to keep the cup partially submerged in the spa water to keep it thawed enough to drink.

Yeah, I agree, when it's this cold outside just take however many brews you think you'll drink out to the tub with you. They'll stay plenty cold in the time it would take you to drink them. Most refrigerators are in the mid to upper 30 degree range anyways, so this time of year....the WHOLE WORLD is your refrigerator!! ;D

Thats what I do......if it's 30 or below the whole half rack or full rack is sitting in it's box next to the tub staying cold all by it's own self. The biggest problem this time of year is preventing it from freezing. Like Tony said ya gota hold your can in the water.

Actually, I just stick my beer in the snow and on occasion it will freeze but a quick dunk in the water and it's drinkable.
But typically I am not in the tub more than hour. Dare I ask how many beers do you drink in hour hour? 8)
On the few occasions when we are in the tub a significant time, and beer is running low, we take turns going back into the house and it' s pretty fun....Beer run through the snow. :) then agiain we are the type that jump and roll in the snow then hop back into the tub.
Another trick is to bring someone in the tub who you KNOW what stay in it for less than 1/2 hour. When they get out, you jusst innocently ask "Can you bring us out another beer, pretty please? "
Or you could just switch to burbon. ;) Or vodka. Place the bottle in the snowbank and try to get it as cold as possible. It's the Russan way. :)
Some brandy is also good ice cold while sitting in the tub.

Got a wife Brewman... She just won't go... not for Beer anyway... She says its my job... Something about gender specific.. ie; like mowing the lawn....
Think i'll just switch to Burbon, good call

Do what I do, have your butler bring it. He also towels me off and powders me after a soak.

Keeping the lighter and matches dry for smokes is another problem all togethor.
I light tiki torches and light my cigars off them. However take caution when leaning yur drunken face into a flame :o
I recomend extra long cigars. ;)

Thanks for all the great ideas. I’ve tried a couple of different cooler options, the 6 pack size doesn’t hold enough for an hour or so, that’s with the wife drinking with me. I can’t drink like I used to back in my younger days.
The whiskey is deadly for me; I’m over ten years clean from that rodeo, due to the week long lapses I still can’t account for.
As an avid hater of the cold, I’m looking for any way to stay inside the tub and get more beer. Unfortunately, wife and butler are out of the question, his salary was reallocated to the spa.

we always bring out enough beer, well what we think will be enough. we put in a soft sided cooler and just place right behind the lounger . there is a perfect shelf right there. no need to get out of the tub. The only problem is you end up drinking alot more, what am i saying!!!!!

I was thinking about the same "problem" today. I have two of those little beer insulating huggie holders, so I'm limited to two beers.
Since my tub is indoors, the only snow I can bury my brewskies in will be inside a cooler.
My idea was to find a foldable "TV"- tray like table, placed next to the tub, that would bring the top of a cooler to the same height as the top of the tub.
Big table = big cooler. ;D
I use two of these tables on my RV, I'll have to check out if they are high enough. If so, other places like WalMart may sell them.
