Finally was able to load up some pics of my delivery. (after some help fropm my 9 year old. For those that are interested you can view them at
http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/hottubowners/lst?.dir=/Doodoo%27s+hot+tub+delivery&.src=gr&.order=&.view=t&.done=http%3a//briefcase.yahoo.com/
Funny part is my dealer showed up just as school let out. Well they were very nervous because a crowd had formed to see the crane in action. The head boss passed a quick comment with a large grin to me that this was the first time that they had an audience and now was not the time to drop it.

Cant get link to work, says a group tech error.

Sorry for not adding that you have to have a groups membership (free) at Yahoo. Kinda like setting an account for email but this one is for groups.

Great looking deck. I love the color of the tub too. I'd have to think the side effect of a daytime crane delivery is you are now the most popular person in the neighborhood :) I had mine delivered in the dark of night. The whole setting is very picturesque. Great job.
Lets see if I can make this work for the rest of you.

Great looking install. The Optima works really well with the spa set into the deck at that height.
-
Thanks for the help Wmcall. I'm not kidding when I say that my IT expert at home is my 9 year old son. He's the one that was able to explain to me how to load the pics on the Yahoo site. ???
Thanks. It was very convenient to install it at that height given that the ground below the deck was exactly 1' 7''. The Optima had two cool down seats that are conveniently placed on either side of the entry points.
The kids find it very easy to go in and out. The pool is on the other end of the deck so running in and out of the pool to the hot tub and back, and so on, and so on, and so on.......:P means no grass or other matter getting into the tub. The three boards in the front of the tub are screwed together and removable providing access to the mechanicals. The dealers tech loved it when he installed it, especially the beer that came as soon as the tub was in place. ;D :D

Doodoo, your spa looks great! Congratulations and thanks for sharing the photo! I really like your decking and enclosure. My hub loves your pearlescent shell. We had thought we wanted sahara or sand, but now considering pearlescent. Tell me, what type of curtains do you have hanging? I love that look, but wondered what fabric would stay clean and weather well? I live in humid NC.
It looks really nice! I cant wait till July so that I can post pics of my own!

More pics more pics, more pics... I think I now have the solution for my worries about neighbors peaking through my fence ... what kind of curtains are those? shower curtains? please post more pics or give the direct URL to the membership page to that yahoo group because I cant figure it out.
Thanks

It does look great! Congrats!
CalicoskiesNC - where are you? What did you order? I bet you can't wait!!
We are also in NC (Cary) and just about knee deep in research! We have wet tested some Artesian, and are headed to the Marquis dealer tomorrow for a soak. Hot Spring (they also sell Jacuzzi) and Sundance are the next ones to schedule... just wondering what you decided on and why...
Thanks in advance,
Jodi

Sorry about the delay in getting back to the questions on this. Business trip out of the country for 4 days and the first thing I did was go for a soak. :D Well OK the second thing ;).
Those curtains are indeed shower curtains. We have a very private backyard with only one neighbour to contend with and that is only one window. The main Access from the house is 6 feet away from the tub and the deck was already built (by yours truly) to create a room effect. So when my significant other started thinking about privacy for our Spa Heaven, she suggested that we simply hang some shower curtains. I thought she meant the plastic vynil kind, but came home with those that are more like a cloth and the rods. All in all it looks great. Like she said "when they get to old looking we'll simply replace them"
Cailcosci. The pearlescent is fabulous, especially at night with the LED lights. Wow under the stars, the reflection of the tub adds a whole new dimension. We also added little x-mas lights in amongst the trellis around the deck which provides a very soft white.

Shower Curtains...... That is a fantastic idea :o I'll have to keep that one in mind.

That's a beautiful setup... SUPERB... and I LOVE the curtain idea!!!!
I go to each family's home that I sell a tub to and give them ideas and suggestions on tub placement, decking, decor and positioning, and I'm going to now include curtains in my "idea book"!
I'm curious though, why the crane? Who paid for it, you, or was it included in your package and paid for by the dealer?

Thank you! thank you! thank you. But the credit goes to my best friend (wife) who has a great mind to envision what something will look like before any of the work is done. We love the set-up. Very private.
The crane was required because there was absolutely no way to 'dolly' the tub to the backyard. It would have meant going through a grape arbour, over raspberry and strawberry plants, through the vegetable patch and then through the serious gardens that my wife tends. What can I say she is British and loves her gardens. The final would have been to hoist the tub up three steps onto the deck and then into the hole were it now rests. The crane went comething like. Strap the thing - hoist over the house - lower into place - and voila.
The dealer include that into the cost of purchase. It was the same as his hand delivery cost because he made the decision to go with the crane after purchase when he saw the where and what he had to go through.

Oi, what's wrong with being British and enjoying your garden!?!?!?LOL Seriously tho, it looks ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS,a nd tell your wife that she obviously has a very fine British mind to be able to think of a clever, and pretty, idea of those shower curtains

I'm bumping this thread so you can see the shower curtain idea from Doodoo- I guess it wasn't a pergola but this is the one I was thinking of.
