Seeing the post where the new owner was looking for help determining the age of his Hot Spring prompted me to go out a take a pic of my old beater. Â Please keep the laughter down to a minimum. Â I got it about 7 years ago when a customer bought a new one and our service guys "hauled away" his old one. Â I paid for the repair costs which were only about $300. Â And yes that is TIPTOP on it. Â I added that a year later when our warehouse went though a cleaning and they found it. Â

That's a beautiful spa my friend. I have dozens of customers who still use their 20+ year old HS spas every day. I've got one on the deck at my store that was built the month before I graduated high school, April 1985, and it runs like a champ!

According to a guy in Colorado Hotspring Spas don’t last that long. I guess he is wrong.
You have a very nice spa.
-
I may give you guys a hard time about Hot Spring now ( cuz I have to) But there is no disputing the "energizer bunny" performance of the "older crowd". And the TipTop is awesome. I never have to worry about snow or kids climbing on it. In fact, I'm 220.... OK I used to be 220..... once...... a long time ago...at birth....and I can stand in the middle.
-
What is the TIPTOP?

If you ever need some new arms for that tip top, I think I may have some of the remaining few out there. ;D

What is the TIPTOP?
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away Hot Spring used to make a 1 piece Rovel hard cover that hinged off to 1 side. It was bulky and expensive. We used to sell them for something like $1200 extra and few people bought them.

It's funny you say that cuz a few years ago one of our service guys snagged both arm assemblies off a customers spa that they were trowing away and he gave them to me. They are now shrink wrapped on a shelf in my garage...just in case. ;)
thanks.

Hey, I think that's a great spa...and made even better by the fact that it's still working. I hope I have my Epic for 20 years!!
-
I also graduated highschool in 1985 and using that year of highschool graduation as a mark of logevity really just made me feel old.
-
I graduated in 1983 so I feel your pain. :'(

You're all kids. '71 grad.

I think I graduated from kindergarten in 83! ;D

I was originally supposed to graduate in '79. :(
I guess that's why I sell hot tubs for a living instead of being a Space Shuttle Door Gunner like I dreamed of.

Class of 79, our motto was vodka, beer and wine we're the class of 79.
That could be the reason I sell hottubs for a living as well. ??? ??? ???

"Class of 79, our motto was vodka, beer and wine we're the class of 79."
We were begun in 81, survive til 85. Â My dreams of following Gene Simmons as bass player for Kiss were dashed when I sold my bass guitar for 3rd row Van Halen seats for the Diver Down tour and I am stuck in timeshare for the rest of my pathetic life. ;D
I never knew this thread would make us all learn so much about each other without once mentioning dichlor vs bromine or the hazards of using a floater or not buying a Hotspring.
-
I think I graduated from kindergarten in 83! Â ;D

Wow, I think my mom graduated in '48 also.

I graduated in '77 and was in my 20's in the 80's ... What songs are you two talking about ... If it's disco or teeny bopper music, just say yes and DON'T explain.
-
yes
;D
I'm sure anyone who graduated in the mid 80's will remember those embarassments. unfortunately, two of many.
"Taco" anyone?
Of course I jest. There was good music to come out of the 80's.
-
Class of 78 - did I learn anything during that time, I don't remember but I do have the piece of paper that says I went to school for 4 years.
Our class size was 44 - the whole HS only had 100 kids.

Arrrrgh. "Putting on the Ritz" Damn you. Now I'll have that song in my mind all day.
What do they call that? Ear worms? (When you get an annoying tune in your head). Well to pay you back:
Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon
You come and go
You come and go
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dream
Red, gold and green
Red, gold and green
you're welcome.
;)

Class of '70 and I don't remember a thing!
-
"Putting on the Ritz" Damn you. Â Now I'll have that song in my mind all day.
I loved when the monster sang that in Young Frankenstein, a classic!!

Class of 82....our motto was....'Pass the bong'.... :-/
-
Class of '71. Student population less than 500. Graduation class was about 40. If we had a motto I don't remember it. But I don't remember a lot from back then for some reason. I do know my wife and I started dating in high school. Can't remember how that happened either. Maybe tonight when we get in the tub I can ask her and a couple of rusty nails might bring back some memories. Don't want a lot of flashbacks though... hate when that happens. paul

Oh my God Maryjane!
Why does it seen like so many of us that went to High School in the 70's don't remenber much.
