Title: Poll gang which color light in your hot tub....
Post by: Backpains on June 28, 2005, 05:05:44 pm
do you like the best???

In the Coleman 461 I have three options:

1. clear or normal lighting

2. red which I haven't tried yet

3. Blue which I now have in and will try tonight!

Which lights do you all have in yours and what color is your fav?

Not a big deal Backpains, I would say our favorites are the blue and green tones it shows. They are very tranquil and relaxing to us!!

I opted for the color glo LED. Fav setting is Tidal fade: blue to green..... Very soothing. Most annoying is colorburst, strobe effect through all the colors AKA the disco setting.

Backpains, do you mean you literally have to change the bulbs or something to change colors?  I thought most/all spas with colored lighting did have the electronic color cycling...  hm.

Ironically, my Jacuzzi J-355 w/ LED lighting in the footwell and on the water fall doesn' t have the colour I'd like most, which is clear.

from all the tubs that I have seen at night, I think that I like the blue the best.

backpains,  two more days and my tub goes into production.  16 days and I will be up to my ears in hot water.

Can you feel it!!!!!

again, I am so happy for you and to see that you are getting relief.

Has anyone purchased the 24 LED light that some places sell? If you did, was the fit identical to the bulb that comes with the spa? Also, besides the extra colors available in the 24 LED, does it have any other benefits (i.e. brighter, etc..) ?

mine plugs right into the bulb socket. you can set it for constant blue, red, green, yellow, magenta or white plus a variety of fade in/outs and the aforementioned disco strobe.

I got the factory LED light with my Artesian. It runs through about 8 colors, it changes colors about every 3 seconds.

The kids like red - they're soaking in "blood". The changing colors are a nice feature. Having a light color shell along with the SS rings makes it reflect the light around nicely!

If you can, maybe look into the retrofit LED light (Colorglo is one brand).

I stop the color change between the green and blue.

I put an aftermarket LED (Colorscape) light in my Jacuzzi, it is great. Has a dozen different cycles to pick from and fits right in where the factory bulb went, easy to install. I had the red and green covers before, the LED light is a nice improvement.

My 05' Sundance Majesta has the 7 color LED light which is awesome but I am wondering, does the 24 LED light provide any brighter light or just more color combos to cycle through?

We've got a 22 LED light that has several modes.  We typically leave it on the setting that cycles through all the colors pretty slowly.  It's pretty cool...

All light carries through the night and travels.  The Navy tought me red light at night is the best because the pupils dialate and the red light does not carry for a distance.  "Combat information centers" jor "CIC"  always had red light for that reason, it does not travel and when you walk back into the dark your eyes adjust immediately as the pupils are dialeted or wide open.

I like the red, but most of the time leave it off.  You can see the stars better that way!

My Accolade has the color-change feature, and the Bella-fontanna waterfall is synchronized to the tub light.

I let mine cycle through all the colors, but I don't care for the red too much....looks too eerie.  My favorite colors are the blue and green though.

Peachy

One thing I will mention is I like all the colors with Red the least.

I let mine cycle sometimes but it cycles to fast making more of a light show out of it instead of gradually transitioning the colors every 5 minutes so I could enjoy them.

red and blue are my faves, kids like 'silver'  no one likes the yellow (you can guess what the kids think it looks like!)

Ok, this is NOT fair you all have cool LED colors on yours and all I get is stupid color lenses on mine  :'( Plus I have to use a stupid knife to get the lens off so I can try a diff one, I think I'm going to take off the blue one and just leave it white.  LED is an option I just couldn't afford at the time I bought the tub..Oh by the way hubby and I were thinking maybe next year we will add a ozonator to the tub (I'd like to see which options I can actually put on this thing as time goes on, but we will see) anyway I digress into a fit of pain killers on board now so I'll stuff a sock in my mouth and go to my corner! hehehehehe

I have no choice, my older model won't stop on a single color.

My led, as I believe most leds, have red, blue and green lights.  When the red mixes with blue, you get a light purple which I like alot.  The red and green create a kindof orange/yellow, and the blue and green mixture create a  "ice blue" which is really cool too.

I wonder what happened to our user UNDER THE STARS. Red flashlights are popular among astronomers for that reason as well.

I use the colorscape. To all of you who were complaining about lack of color why not spend the $100.00 and get a LED multi light? They fit right in the factory location and are brighter and offer multiple colors and effects. I like the blues and greens and the slow change over. The "disco effect" of fast switching has to be the most anoying! My tub is out on my deck and when I have parties, even if no one is in the tub lighting it up blue or geen makes it look awesome!

I let mine cycle through all colors. If we do stop it, it is on red and then adjust it to the most dim setting. Wmcall is right your eyes can still see things in the distance if the red light is on.

Little late back to this thread... Backpains, thanks for the clarification on your lenses.  That makes a lot more sense than changing bulbs! On the last spa we had, it had an LED cycling set, also, and we liked blue and green.  Stars were also nice... :)

BTW, red light use at night is slightly more complicated:  it doesn't affect your night vision, so, you can read things like gauges (in a plane or boat) and still see the world outside.  (I've been a boater all my life, trust me. :)  )

Its use on a battleship (in CIC or elsewhere) or a small boat is similar: in case you were hit and found yourself in the water, you could better see and people could see to find you.

(The things you learn here, hm?)

Cause I just spent a little over 7k to purchase and house my spa? lol

Putting a few things in the budget for next season, like a ozonator and maybe some colored lights, ooo or maybe a stereo (not that kind either) I was thinking of adding a boom box next summer. Oh and this month I get that outdoor carpet put on the floors in the front of the tub hubby doesn't like that we can track dirt in the tub and neither do I.

I was considering upgrading to the led light system for my spa, but I like the blue so much over the other colors that I have decided to stay with the lens cover system... for now.

Does anyone know if the 24 LED aftermarket lighting is brighter than the 7 LED light that comes with the Sundance Spa??? If anyone has changed their included LED light to a 24 LED light, please let me know. Thanks in advance!
