Title: Start up chemicals inculded?
Post by: drober30 on February 11, 2005, 09:14:01 pm
So when I go in tomorrow to write up the 05 Vanguard they will list start up chemicals as included.

I upgraded to the HS Fresh Water III ozanator. I don’t know anything regarding maintenance yet. That will be my focus now. I guess that I will be using Chlorine and the Silver Ions cartridge that goes in one of the filters?

What should I expect the dealer to include?

There is a start-up kit, private labeled for HotSpring. It contains pH up and Down, Dichlor, MPS, test strips, Stain and Scale Control, and one or two other things that my brain can't bring up just now.

Your dealer may give you that in addition to the AG+ Silver Ion Cartridge, or they may simply put together similar items off the shelf.

You MUST have:

Testing device: kit or strips.
pH adjustment. Some dealers only include the one you'll need most often.
Sanitizer: Dichlor, Bromine.

So I just found this statement on a web site:

Freshwater silver ion cartridge is for Hot Spring Spas ONLY.
The Natural Alternative to Chlorine (and Bromine too!)

 *Completes the Everfresh system.
 *Lasts four months
*Makes spas easy to manage, halogen-free
 *Improves performance of ozone-equipped spas
*Assures a healthy, safe, odor-free spa
*Significantly improves look & feel of water
*Simplifies water balance - it's unaffected by heat

My question is if the Silver ion cartridge is the alternative to Chlorine then what method am I using with the Ever Fresh system?

My estimate next to start up chemicals reads Chlorine and has a figure of $150.00?
