Title: Slugging?
Post by: steve771 on November 23, 2004, 03:05:48 pm
I thought someone here had referenced that as a way to raise TA w/o affecting pH so much, but darned if I can find it.  ???  I think it had to do with adding the pH up/down in a non-running spa for a bit, but I can't remember.  Help!  ???

Slugging:

Step one, make sure your jets have been off for 10 mins
Note: some spas have a stand-by mode that shuts off the circ pump as well.

Step Two: Add x amount of Alkalinity Increaser/pH decreaser in the one spot in the deepest sart of the spa, to raise/lower the alk.

Step Three: wait ten minutes

Step Four: Turn the jets on high for 30 mins.

Repeat if necessary
