Title: Chas gone again! :-/
Post by: Chas on October 07, 2004, 10:45:13 am
Hey - I'm sorry to turn into such a flake here, but my dad has had another heart attack and I'm going to drive up to take care of Mom until he gets out of the hospital.

It was a mild attack, and he should be home in just a few days.

They're 83, and I guess the warranties are up!

The worst part is that they live in Stockton - a 6 or 7 hour drive. They may soon be living in Ventura... I have room for a second tub set at a lower temp just for them....

OK regulars - let's keep those shoppers informed!

As your father gets better remember the early years and all of the wonderful memories. It's amazing how many there are.

Wish ya the best Chas!  If you have any questions relating to your dads condition etc, don't hesitate to ask. My wife Susie is a 20+ year heart nurse, and is very well versed in said area.

Title: I have returned
Post by: Chas on October 10, 2004, 09:58:58 am
Wow - I have to be careful how I say this, " I'm back."

Thanks for the outpouring of kind words and concern. This really is a nice little community to be involved with.

Dad is back at his home, doing very well. He got up and made me breakfast and did the dishes as I was getting ready to leave - and he insisted I leave the laundry alone, "I'll get that later son."

They ran him through a CT scan, and a stess test - but the stress test was all chemical. They inject one drug, watch the results and then inject another drug and do the same. No treadmill this time.  He was pretty talkative when he returned, so I have a suspicion one of the drugs had some  sort of cafiene-like effect.

They said they had actually caught the heart attack in time this time around. No plans for angio-anything.

Good deal! I may have a few months to get our place ready for them to move down.

Anyone want a nice two bedroom, two bath mobile home in a quiet (adult) park in Stockton, CA? New roof, new TP windows, new airconditioning system, fresh paint, couple of fruit trees, stick-built single garage, large tool shed/shop area, and huge awnings on both sides..... and room for a spa...
