Title: Electrical Question
Post by: Hank239 on May 18, 2020, 05:57:58 pm
I'm looking for some guidance on the type of hookup for a Jacuzzi J-315.
This can be purchased as plug and play or with a 240V hookup. I'd rather opt for the 240V  but want to make sure I can do this with what I currently have.

The home owner before me had a hot tub and there is a 4 pronged 125/250 V outlet on my patio (fuse box also has two switches labeled hot tub).

Sorry for my ignorance, but would this suffice? The salesperson said that the 240v hookup is hard wired and this is obviously a plug/outlet.

220 cannot be a plug in and be code, it has to be hardwired with a GFCI Sub-Panel between the hot tub and your main electrical panel.

How many amps is the tub circuit you have?
