Title: Changing default setting on Sundance optima
Post by: Andocrx on December 14, 2019, 04:23:06 pm

 Hi everyone,

So we finally bought our first tub and was delivered yesterday!!!

I have a big question and wondering if anyone can please clearly explain how to do it pictures would be great or a video if anyone knows is out there explaining how to change the factory Sundance Optima setting to allow you to be able to Run both jet pumps and have the heater running as well.

I had the Electrician run a 60A service so that's all done which is  needed for this change I am just not clear on what needs to be changed now.

I have heard a jumper in the control box and also heard a toggle switch need to be flipped .  Just cant find a diagram or clear instructions on how to do it and which jumpers/ toggle to make changes to.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it is a brand new Optima, the instructions are on the wiring diagram that is on the cover to the main control box.

Dip Switch 3 and 4 should be in the off position.

 Hi SerjicalStrike,

It's a brand new 2018 spa was a floor model.

If I understood the manual at the back for the dip switch for 60a setup #4 should be on and for 50A Optima default dip switch #3 is on.

So you are saying both should be off?  That would leave all dip switches to the off position then correct?

Any wires needed jumper that you know of?

My bad, I was looking at a 980 and yours is an 880.  Like I said the diagram is right on the inside of the electrical box.  The only jumper that should be in the on position is 4.  All others should be off.  No other wires need to be moved.
