Title: Jacuzzi J-345 ??
Post by: golferm on September 10, 2004, 12:12:18 pm
I am considering a Jacuzzi J-345.  Any suggestions on other tubs to look at in the same price range ?

As a footnote, I have found both Sundance and Hot Springs to be out of my price range for a similarly equipped 7 foot hot tub (or in that area).

Thanks

I don't know the price range of that spa but I can assure you that there are other major manufaturers besides Hot Spring and Sundance that have a spa that is similarly sized and equipped. Go to the websites of some of the other major spa makers (Marquis, Caldera, D1, etc.) and find the section typically known as "dealer locator". You can simply enter your zip code to find your nearest dealer. Visit as many as feasible and that will give you the options to the J-345 that you're looking for.

I should have mentioned that I'm in Canada.  Price for the 345 is around $ 8,000 CAD. (n/incl lifter).  I'm frustrated by Hot springs high prices, and we don't have Caldera here.  I've even checked into Tiger River, and the HS dealer is jacking those prices too.  The D-1 dealer has given up that line, and is only carrying Sundance now, which also seems priced quite high compared to Jacuzzi.

Thoughts ?

One other thing....Marquis dealer is also a lot higher than Jacuzzi for same sized tub.  I've also looked at Master Spas, but they don't seem to have the same finish as Jacuzzi, HS, Sundance and Marquis.

Have you looked at Beachcomber yet? The dealer locater will show you where the closest dealer is:

Have looked at Beachcomber.  Same price for similar sized tub.  I don't like their equipment outside the tub option for my back yard set up.  I just checked some Hot Spring / Tiger River prices, and just confirmed to myself that I'll never have to waste time there again.  Caspian $ 12,000 (7x7 tub), Bengal not as big.... $ 8995, $ Sumatran $ 7495 (6.5x6.5).  Hot Spring Sovereign $ 10,000, So far there's nothing that remotely compares to the 345 Jacuzzi.  I've also checked out some Marquis prices, and for their regular line, they're much more expensive than Jacuzzi.

The Protec is an option and you can order a Beachcomber without it ( I think). The only problem that I see is that if you order the other items in the LE package, you'll be paying quite a bit more for them (unless you can buy the LE package and have them not include the Protec).

I may be worth asking about.

As a former Beachcomber  delaer I can tell you LE is availible only with Protec. LE is new for 2004. Prior to that they ran quarterly promotions. Each would include Protec + 2-4 options for $278-$478 above the base price of the tub. They dont want to sell you a tub without protec. Dispite what they tell you it is cheaper for them to make the tub with protec, just because of economies of scale.

Most of the tubs you mentioned spend more on components and R&D than Jacuzzi Premium. That may explain why they cost more?

Sounds to me like you've found your tub. I'm a proud owner of a j-370 and it's great, no problems as of yet.
Jacuzzi is definately a top 6 brand, so what 's lyour worry-take the plunge into spatopia!!!!
