How it sounds today will be of little consequence with how it sounds in a few months.  My understanding is that all stereo sytems in hot tubs are not rated for the enironment for which they are placed.  Evidence is that no one warranties against moisture.

Check out the Marquis system.  Totally different, sounds great, tub still UL listed (important for safety reasons) and has warranty.  ;D

The HotSpring Spaudio is speakerless. Don't know quite how they do that. And it's outrageously expensive (ca $1800 I think.) But it might fair better in the elements. Why not just tote a decent battery operated boom box (do they come with remotes yet?) out to the area when you're dieing for music?

I like the idea of everything being packaged, less to lug out/in in colder weather. does anyone know if the stereos in hot tubs are marine quality, or if that option is offered? We really like the 365 for size/jets/quality and now before we order are looking at the extras :)

I've got a Caldera Elation with stereo, it sounds excellent nice deep bass from sub and crystal clear highs.  Plenty of power.  I hope the moisture won't become a problem down the road

The stereo  systems in a Jacuzzi are the same as a Sundance. They are poly Planar systems. These are marine systems, they can hold up to the elements as they are specifically designed for the elements unlike others on the market.

Our stereo has held up fine for the past 18 months.
It was expensive, but it's very convenient, and sounds great.

Partially correct.  They are both Poly-Planar systems, and are made to withstand the elements. However, the Sundance has a sub-woofer, and a two-year warranty.  The Jacuzzi Premium does not include a sub-woofer, and has a one-year warranty.  By the way, the Sweetwater stereo does not have a sub-woofer, and also has a one-year warranty.

Where is the subwoofer?  Inside the cabinet?

That is correct.

The Sundance stereo system is one of the better sounding systems out there.  Actually, if you tried to price the components (you can purchase from a marine dealer) separately, you would find the price SD charges is not really outrageous.

I would doubt it; just one more reason to purchase a Sundance.
