Hi guys off on holiday soon for 2 weeks,
What do i do with my hot tub ?
Dont want to come back to a stagnant pond
Thanks Mitch

Whats the climate? If not a threat to freeze, drain and clean and start fresh when you're back.
If a threat to freeze- What sanitizer do you use?
-
Hi its inside a summer house so no threat of Freezing.
I thought if i drain it the pipes will rust and i would never clear it ?
-
I was operating under the assumption that you tub is a standard portable tub. Is it a custom tub?
-
Hi
Its not a portable tub, its a 6 seater had it installed then built the summer house round it.
Fully Ventilated and powered etc.
-
What is the brand name and model of your tub?
What do you do now to keep it from becoming a stagnate pond as daily treatment?
What chemicals now? And how do you put them in?

Firstly i am UK based and have a spa made over here so not a brand you would know, Its by Blue Whale Spa.
At present i use Chlorine Granules as needed by my test strips and normally a bit of PH+ now and then.
I shock it once a week with Non-Chlorine Shock and change the filters weekly
I do struggle to get more than 3 months out of it before i change the water i it is very dirty.
We always shower in PH neutral stuff before every use.

Leave the old water in, turn the temp down to 70 and bring your chlorine level up over 10PPM.
Walk away. If no one is using it it should be fine for a week or maybe a bit more. Clean your filter and run the chlorine up to 3 PPM when you get back in a week. 2 weeks you should have someone test and add chlorine to over 10 PPM again. And so on.

Here is a thread that shows what I have been doing. I have an inline feeder that I don’t normally use, but you could use a floating feeder when you are away up to a month using this method.
