I opened my hot tub the other day and was shocked to see green yellowish color water. Wondering what would cause this? I change my filter weekly as well as get my water tested weekly at the dealer. Normally it is crystal clear. I shocked the tub with non chlorine as well as added 15mg of chlorine shock and it looks a bit better but still not cyrstal clear. Any ideas what would cause this?

Is this water from a fresh fill? If so, could be copper or iron reacting with the non-chlorine shock or chlorine.

Was there a smell also?

No smell. Water is from last October and tds is at 1400. Dealer told me I could wait to change it when it hits 2500

I would be changing my water. You can push the change to the limit but there is nothing like that fresh fill feeling. When my water loses that sparkle and that feel I sometimes drain it down about 8” and refill it lowering the CYA. Doing that a few times helps but nothing like a total change and cleaning the tub up and starting over. We use ours a lot and it gets dumped about 4 times a year 3 with doing the drain downs once a month.
