Title: newbie buying a Hydropool and have some questions
Post by: raggdoll on December 01, 2015, 09:49:26 pm
So, I had a hot tub years ago, but have since moved and downsized. Just me now, but I'm hoping to be back in a hot tub within the next few weeks.

I've narrowed it down to a Hydropool Serenity 4000, 3-4 person tub. I've found it at a reasonably close dealer, and they seem quite knowledgable.

I snowmobile quite a bit, so primarily it will be for therapeutic soaks after a days riding. I'm getting this size as Id like it to be big enough for 2-3 other people, but mostly it will be just me.

Does anyone have any first hand experience or reviews of the Hydropool tubs? They seem well made, and being here in Ontario, I like the fact it's locally manufactured.

Any other suggestions/comments are most welcome!

Hydropool makes a solid tub. I used to sell them about 15 years ago. They were well made and the factory seemed good to work with. The company that I worked for at the time still sells them and he was pretty picky about what he sold. They have made a number of changes through the years. They used to be a full foam tub but now they use a perimeter insulation. They used to not come with circulation pumps but I believe they do now. If you are looking to comparison shop for price comparison check out the jacuzzi 200 series, the hot spots by hot springs, the celebrity series by Marquis or the x series by bullfrog. Those will be like tubs that will let you know how your dealer is on price

How important are the jets for you?  Have you felt the Serenity jets?
Hydropool is a great company. Serenity is their entry level series.

Yes, the jets are important, as is the overall components of the entire tub...

I have not felt them, what should I be looking for?

I'm going back to the dealer prior to making a decision.

I've been a part of this forum for a few years and I can't recall reading any posts about people buying a hydropool. That doesn't mean they aren't a good tub just not as well known. Also I think in the US most of there dealers now carry the lazy boy line from hydropool

Ah, thanks. From my research this company seemed to be a "higher end" tub company.

What other higher end tubs should I possibly be considering? I've already looked at Jacuzzi. Loved them, just too expensive
