Title: Submersible pump or siphon

I am debating if I should buy a submersible pump since I get cold winters where I live or a siphon. Also what is a good brand to look for in a pump that I can attach my garden hose to?

You're better off getting a submersible pump with a 2" hose.  It is significantly faster than garden hose.

For years I used a utility pump that had a garden hose fitting; I originally bought it for my above ground pool. I have graduated to a sump pump and what a difference, it empties the tub quite quickly!

I would buy a sump pump, corrugated tubing (sump pump flexible tubing) and enjoy the benefits.
