Title: Sundance chelsee
Post by: Mbains on September 29, 2015, 11:53:43 pm
We looked at Sundance Chelsee (after looking at jacuzzi) we were quoted $10k for tub, stairs, lifter, set up etc. is this a fair price?

I had a quote for $8995 with the inclusions you mentioned

It's a little steep to me. I got quoted for less than 9k as well. Heck my cameo only cost me 786.00 more than that. That includes all of the options you mentioned and tax and startup chemicals.

I should mention -- my quote was during the labor day promotion. That could be a real promotion, so that could impact the pricing.

On the other hand, there seems to always be a promotion, AND my sales rep negotiated against himself. I said nothing, but just walked through the showroom, looking at stuff, and he kept dropping the price, thinking my silence was a negotiating tactic. It wasn't. But I'm in sales, and that told me that he has a LOT of wiggle room in his price, if he can shed $500 every few minutes on the pricing. So, I would hold out for more discount. You need a reason, though, so mention other brands you are looking at, other dealers you are talking to, etc.

Seems spas have similar markup as an RV.  100% in the latter case.  Based on what we spent for a tub, I'd have to say 40% discount would be a starting point.
