Title: Potential Cracked pipe on 2002 Beachcomber 720
Post by: Haxim on April 25, 2014, 11:49:45 pm
I think I may have a cracked pipe to some of the jets due to ice from improper drainage over the winter. Are there any kind of take-apart diagrams or instructions where I can get a look at the pipes behind the wooden sides around a 2002 Beachcomber 720?

Thanks.

I would say probably a big no.    Look in front first, if nothing there or obvious take the sides off and start digging look for wet foam, the warmer it gets the closer you are.  Give or take.

Haxim,

Good luck with your leak.

Thanks guys. From the sounds of it, it might be more than just a crack as it sounds like it was filled and turned on while there was still ice in one of the jet pipes. I'm assuming from that that one of the pipes has burst. I suppose the only option is to crack into the side and start digging around?

Start by trying to zero in on the leak better. Is it high or low? Where does the water leak down to? Which side is it on? The main manifold is downstream of the pumps, Is it a step equipment model? Follow the lines on that side. The upstream side is where the filter is. Could be there also. There may be secondary manifolds as well. They will be downstream also, possibly after the main or on a second pumps line. Each jet has a smaller line from the manifold/s. Once you zero in you will likely have to tip it on it's side if the leak is low.

How fast does it leak? Can you fill it and heat it to try and get it to leak a lot so you can zero in better.
