Never buy hot tub with Gecko product. Their in.therm heater can not be repaired and is really expensive to change.
-
My understanding is that Gecko makes good equipment.
-
The in.therm is the ''intelligent Heater'' . The in.therm can be replaced for 260 $ aproximately . where do you live ? it come with a standard 3 year warranty .
-
249.99 buy it now on E-Bay

Let's see if he comes back, these type of messages usually come from someone with a grudge that does a hit and run.
-
yeah lol

The integrated flow sensor broke and because everything is fill with epoxy, I can not change it. I contacted them and my discussion with them let me understand that they do their product for service people instead of customer.
-
There are plenty of places you can buy that yourself. You likely can't buy it from Gecko.
-
I know I can replace it myself. My concern is that I have to replace the whole thing instead of just replace what is broken (the flow sensor). So it is going to cost me 300$ instead of 30$.
-
So, your problem is with the cost of replacement of the in therm.
You slam the entire product line because you don't like the cost of replacing a part that is expensive.
I am disappointed when I see whining and attacks based on whining such as this thread.

Life can be expensive.
Suck it up and move on.

How did it break to begin with?

Pers Onal, you are probably a dealer of these product so keep your comment for you if you do not have anything interesting to say. Me am a real customer that will have to pay for something that is designed for dealer like you. My problem is not with the price! I would pay that 300$ if that piece could last longer than other comparable system. If I can replace the whole Gecko products on my spa I will do it even it is more expensive now because I know that on long term cost it will be better for me. Is there someone that could give me what would be the better system to replace that unserviceable Gecko system? A system where it is possible for a customer to simply replace the broken piece when it breaks, not half of the system like it is for Gecko products!

Gecko is the longest lasting, best built product out there. Just be careful when your in your equipment bay not to hit any sensors with your elbows. However like Balboa which also makes a fine long lasting product, they make low, middle and high end controllers.

I am not a dealer of any sort, nor do I have any financial interest in Gecko or a competing company.
I am a real spa owner.
Part of my system has a gecko board, and I have a Balboa control pad.
It's not like you can't buy another part, or that you have gone through three or four of them, all breaking in the same manner in a short period of time.
You're just slamming the entire line because you don't like the price of the part.
Suck it up, be a man. Take the hit and move on.
Most of the people here are smart enough to know that Gecko makes a good product and you're spouting sour grapes, slamming the whole line because you don't like coughing up the bucks for a part.
You know, you're sounding a lot like someone complaining about how high the repair costs are on your Merecedes.
Stuff breaks and has to be replaced. That's part of it.
Be a man and learn to quit whining.
-
Pers Onal, I would agree with you if the piece would last 10 times longer than other like a Mercedes compare to a Kia.
-
This horse died a long time ago, time to quit beating it.
Would the mods please move this to where it belongs.
-
Pers,
I don't think that would be physically possible.
