Title: Sundance CD Ozone Question
Post by: dazedandconfused on June 19, 2004, 07:57:31 pm
Can anyone tell me the differences between these 2 Sundance CD Ozone systems?

SunZone CD (6472-627) Deluxe
SunZone CD (6472-845) Special Edition

Thanks

The SunZone CD Ozonator uses an electrical discharge element whereas the UV Ozonator uses an ultraviolet light. Bothe achive the same results and are pretty well offered as options by all major brands. When We were shopping around for our tub we were pretty well told that the CD system was the one that was being offered rather than the UV system.  Most dealers seem to agree that the CD system is more reliable and less work to maintain. Although opinions vary greatly on this.

Thanks doodoo.

Actually, these are both 'cd' ozone systems per the Sundance accessory book.  I didnt know the diff b/n the delux and special edition.

dazedand confused,

I checked with Sundance on the difference a few weeks ago.  I was told the Deluxe puts out about 3 times as much ozone and is for larger spas.  It has or requires a larger length of mixing cable in which the ozone is dissipated as it oxidizes the various contaminants in the water.  I was told the Special Edition is much smaller and is for small hot tubs of less than 200-250 gallons.
