Title: Considerations
Post by: KungFuGod on June 15, 2013, 11:17:42 pm
I am considering 2 hot tubs and would like some thought on each.

Arctic spas and Coast Spas.

Both are in a similar price range ($10k)

I had a coast before, but it had trouble maintaining temperature (something about heater not on with pump 2 running?)

The local Arctic dealer is very reputable.

My focus is on heat and pressure.  (The artic has a 5 pump version) does more pumps prove more pressure (at the jet)?

I appreciate any insight or suggestions.

No more pumps does not necessarily mean more power at the jets. Wet testing is the only way to feel the jet pressure during operation.

Thank.

If each pump puts out x gpm, would more produce a higher discharge rate?

Welcome to the forum.  Quality and design has a lot to do with therapeutic pressure in the jets. Hanging a V8 inside a Chevette doesn't make it a race car. $10k is a lot of money, are there other dealers around.  I have no experience at all with Arctic, but Coast uses a lot of the average components that my old tub used. I got 10 years use from it, but there are better values.
