Noticed that my hot tub was powerless the other day... turned out to be the 30 amp fuse in the controller box. I replaced the fuse and am now getting the dreaded "FL1" error that eventually becomes the "---" error. The red light (heater indicator) is also OFF.
I read the topic post http://www.whatsthebest-hottub.com/forum/index.php/topic,12379.msg155010.html#msg155010 and tried all the things mentioned there.
I removed the filters, turned off the spa for 15 minutes, then turned back on. The red light came back on. I placed my hand over the filter inlet to check for suction. When the spa tried to fire back up... I felt a brief suction against my hand... then nothing and the display went back to FL1. The red light went OFF.
The spa is under warranty, (except for the service call). Is it time to call the Warranty Service guy?
Also... any recommendations of a place for buying replacement filters? These filters at roughly $45/ea. :o
Thanks,
Steve

Turns out it was the little circulation pump. Of course my tub is 6 months out of warranty. Cost of this little gem: $360.00!!! :'(

Nope.
Did your dealer put it in or other repair guy?

The tub is out of warranty... so its just a repair guy. $105 for the initial visit and diagnosis. $360 for the circ pump and $55 to come back and install it. I picked this guy because of some favorable web reviews. Didn't expect to get raped.

Hi I want to tell you what has worked for me believe it or not this is what I have experienced and it works EVery TIME, ok when I get a FL1 code, I take out the filter clean it, then put a hose where the filter goes putting the hose over the screened part using a rag forcing water in the screened part then I put the filter back in if it throws a FL1 code then what I do is PUT SHOCK IN THE HOT TUB that's right SHOCK the heck out of it let it cycle all night and in the morning Bam the FL1 code is gone, I believe the Shock either removes oil, or removes crystals that have formed inside the hoses and the hot tub works flawlessly try it this process has worked for me every time it sounds crazy but it works and I have replaced many flow switches until I have figured out this procedure.
