Title: Newbie needs help with J-345 pricing
Post by: Davenc on April 15, 2013, 10:50:33 pm
We have wet tested several tubs and agree on the j-345.  Here's my dilemma. I have a dealer with 2013 for 8900 including tax. I think that is about 1000-1200 too high.  Also, love the tub, not thrilled with the dealer.

Option #2.  Another dealer very close to my house is a Sundance dealer, but still has one 2012 j-345 from his other store in an adjoining city where he carried Jaccuzis. He will add clear ray and the tub has no noticeable scratches, etc.  and has never had water in it.  He is at 7500 firm including tax.  Again, I think it is a little high for a floor model asked on prices I saw on here for 2012 models.  I really like this dealer.  Thoughts?  Any other tubs that are similar that may be better priced?  Thanks.  We are really excited about getting a spa, but getting frustrated on the price ambiguity in the industry.

Really both those prices are good.   Personally I would take the 2012 and let them put the Clear Ray on it..  You also really can't compare what someone else paid here for the same spa.    And unless you know what a dealer paid for a particular spa you have no idea if it's too high or not..

I would go with the 2012 as well and continue to negotiate. Make sure teh wrrannty is in full, I'm sure it is but always ask. What else does it come with? Also, them adding in the Clearray is not free, they're just including it. When you get an agreed upon price I'd ask how much if they don't add the Clearray so I'd now what that is as an adder, I'd keep it if its inexpensive and skip it if not.

What makes you think the prices are too high?  Are you basing it on anything or just a hunch

To me those prices seem to be in line with what I have seen. A lot of pricing has to do with where in the country you are. An east coast dealer pays a lot more in freight then a est coast guy. Plus there is usually volume discounts. What kind of prices did you see on here because I dd a search and didn't see anything to recent
