Title: water and chemicals

hello
Im having trouble keeping a chlorine residual day to day. ph and alkalinity are fine hardness is low (50ppm) And when I shock it to get the level up Im getting a yellow film around the tub. how often should I be adding chlorine ?

You cannot maintain a residual.  How often do you use the tub?  Do you have ozone?  Mineral stick?

Hit it with dichlor each time you get out.  Some folks would say to give it some before you get in also.  By the next day, if you test, odds are you will have none.  However, the water should be ok, as you killed the bacteria when you got out, put the cover on, so nothing can enter, and have a back up of ozone.
