Being the 400 series is the "premium" line for Jacuzzi why would they have single speed 2.5 pumps vs the 300 series dual speed 2.5

Being the 400 series is the "premium" line for Jacuzzi why would they have single speed 2.5 pumps vs the 300 series dual speed 2.5
A dual speed pumps purpose is for filtering (not needed if you have a circ pump) or for a waterfall. A spa with multiple pumps typically will have a 2 speed for filtering/waterfall needs but otherwise the other pump will be a single speed. Single speed pumps are a little less expensive for the manufacturer but if it doesn't need to be a double speed the customer is not losing anything and at the same time single speed pumps tend to have a little longer life so your better off from that perspective IMO.

Thanks for the explanation, all this hot tub shopping is making by nerve pains in my back resurface after almost 5 years. I wonder if that's not some type of subcontious thing to say it ok to spend this much money on a tub?
