Wondering if this model has any backliting on the lcd panel. At night when you want to turn on the jest its difficult to see the panel buttons.

No it does not, but there are only like 6 btns 2 pump 2 light and 2 temp you will get use to the brail method really quick

engineers must have been super busy perfecting that 50/50 air/water ratio and overlooked this 8)
honestly though, I have a few customers with same complaints on older tubs and some have installed some of those battery powered "tap lights" near the spa and that seems to work in a pinch

Really, not back lit at all? I know I wouldn't like that. I can't imagine anyone is going to realize till they get it home because its always around light in the store and a customer wouldn't know to ask before buying.
Someone needs to work on that one.

The temp is lit just not the btns. Not alot of spa controls that I have seen actually have the btn's lit up far as I know. Jacuzzi never has except on the J-1000 control on the 400 series. Same with Sundance. I will say in 10 years it's complaint I never hear of and trust me if it was, I would hear about it.. ::)
