Title: Questions about Coleman hot tub in -20 to -40 weather

We just purchased a brand new Coleman hot tub (CO756L).  Getting ready to install it and just wondered about using it in the winter just outside of Winnipeg.  Our winters get pretty chilly and it doesn't look like it's well insullated.  Wonder if I should add extra insullation?  Any advice about running a tub for a newbie would be appreciated. :)

Should of picked a well insulated brand.

So you bought a Cal Spa .... thats who makes the Coleman Spas, insulating value soso, did they full foam it or did they partial foam it....

Don't let these guys get to you.  Coleman is one of the better Thermo-pane designs. It is owned by Maxx, not Cal Spa.  Now, Maxx may have also bought Cal (when I wasn't looking).  It uses metal instead of wood on the inside which makes some sense.  Full foam would have been better but water under the bridge.

Don't let Bunka get to you, Cal spas bought the rights long ago so they're the maker of Coleman. In his defense he's a hot tub owner who knows his spa but obviously not a spa pro who knows the spa industry as much. As far as energy use, partial foaming is not the best for cold areas, you could insualte it further and save $ in the long run.

MAAX lost the rights, and Cal Spa bought the rights to use the Coleman name for spas 2 or 3 years ago.
