I just purchase a 2011 Optima, and I am seeing several opinions on the filter to use for replacement. I wanted to know what most are using, and where they purchase. Is it worth using a disposable instead of the 2 piece filter?

I have a 2007 Optima...not sure if the filter is the same as yours.
The Sundance part number for the disposable filter is 6540-507, and the part number for the washable filter is 654-488.
I use the washable filter since it is about 1/2 the price of the disposable. In fact, I have 2 washable filters that I rotate. I don't have any problems with water conditions when using the washable filter...but we don't use the tub daily, so that may be a factor to consider.
I just couldn't justify the cost of replacing the filter every 6 months...which, with our limited usage is every time we drained the tub.

I just looked it up, it appears as though your filter is different, and will not work in a 2009+ model. Thanks though. I know there is some cheaper filter option for this tub, just need to find out what it is...

I realize we have different tubs, due to the model year, but the washable filter, and it's part number, are shown in the owner's manual for mine. It is shown under the section titled "Replacing The Filter Cartridge". It is shown as an optional pleated filter cartridge.
It may be worth a look.

The washable -488 filter will work on all the 880 series spas. We prefer it over the two part filter.

Totally agree, I'd go with the standard 1 piece filter. The 2 part filter only results in having to replace filters more often at a noticeable cost.

Thanks everyone. I will be ordering that filter.

This is the one you all are referring to correct:

trying to make sure I get the right one, and that it is washable. Thanks again!

That's the one I use...based upon everyone's input, it should work for you.
