Title: Envoy Heater Not Working?
Post by: tonyp on October 03, 2010, 03:42:41 pm
My HS Envoy is dropping in temperature.  Looks like the heater isn't working.  The Heater light on the control board goes on and off as I adjust the temperature setting but no heat.  Is there anything I can check before I replace the heater or close the tub.  I'm out of work and can't afford an expensive repair.

Thanks

Check for a air lock and or remove the circ pump filter as well, may work?

Circ pump is running fine.

More info.

Rain finally stopped so I'm able to get out there with a multimeter.  Heater reads 14.5 ohms so it's probably ok.  Looks like there is no voltage to the heater.  Does that mean the Main Aux board?  Is that replaceable without the whole control board?  I do hear clicking when the heater is supposed to come on.  Is there more that one relay in the circuit?

Part no for the relay board (assuming that's the problem) is Watkins 73357.  I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks but I picked one up locally.  It's been replaced by a 74618.  Looking at the 2 boards the new one is a big improvement in board layout.  I also replaced the check valve on the ozone line but now I have no bubbles.

Check valves in the right way?

The flow arrow is towards the "T".  The valve is OK as I can blow through it in the direction of the arrow.  I mis-placed the old valve otherwise I try to put it back and see what happens.  It had a crack that leaked only when the circ pump was off.

Figured it out -  The hose had broken off at the ozone end when I replaced the valve.
