Title: Getting what he deserves
Post by: Vanguard on May 19, 2010, 05:02:35 pm
A Houston man who pretended to sell hot tubs on eBay but instead took $191,000 from 46 customers and spent it on strip clubs, pricey cigars and vacations was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison this morning.

Unless they can convince the strippers and hotels to return the $$ I'm sure the duped people are not getting their $$ back.

He has been ordered to pay $191,000 in restitution when he gets out of prison.  I don't know how all the laws for restitution work.  Does a bankruptcy get you out of it?

The restitution order is great but you have to wonder if/when they'll get much of their $$ back. With his qualifications maybe he can get a job with the traveling spa circus.
