Title: Tubbing after Surgery
Post by: RayF-1 on March 16, 2009, 05:40:49 pm
Had significant ortho surgery on ankle three weeks ago.  Doc says no tubbing for another month.  Doc says incisions need to close up real tight.

What's been the "return to tub time" after surgery experienced by others?

I had my knee replaced about 6/7 weeks ago or so.  I waited till 5 to use the spa with no problems. it did turn pretty red a swelled up a bit, it seemed fine though.  I only go in for about ten min at a time.

Should add a disclaimer!!   Go by your Doc's advice, not mine     :)

My wife removed my testicles and I was in the tub later that day.  ;D

I just had laproscopic abdominal surgery:  the doc told me to wait for four weeks after I got home.  I have just a few more days until I can enjoy a long soak in my tub! ::)

Glad you are doing well, Jim. I am finally getting my knee done tomorrow morning. Just torn meniscus (plural) but a PIA since I really don't have time for this stuff!!  >:( I will ask the doctor tomorrow how long to wait to return to the tub.

Too funny!! ;D ;D

When I had my cancer surgery I had about a 13 inch incision along my ribcage. They took the staples out in about 10 days and the Dr. said no spa for at least a couple of months.

I asked if it was OK to get in the bath and he said that would be fine so I just ignored him and got in the spa anyway. I'm more comfortable with the sanitation in my spa than I am my bathtub....

I think the spa helped me heal much faster....

Course, your spa is a bit unusual

For those that are confused...Tazman is an account I set up for my salespeople and so you never know which one of us are posting. My service manger often uses it but that name is one of 4 or 5 people from my store. I just saw it was what was what they were logged onto when I posted a reply to Doc.

My surgeon told me to wait until the incision was totally closed, for me it was about 2 weeks.

Will you be back here by April 6th?  I don't remember approving your time off.
