Title: Beachcomber Leak - Help
Post by: marks on October 22, 2008, 12:34:57 am
My dealer has gone out of business and their is not dealers within 250 miles.

My Beachcomber 580 is leaking from the front of the Hush Pump (Circulation Pump).  The pump is an Aqua-Flo, see link below:

http://www.poolpartsonline.com/p-274-aqua-flo-circ-master-cmcp-pump-parts.aspx

It leaks from the bottom of the cover (part AF91231402).  So my question is how to fix this.

1. Replace whole wet end assembly, if so what part do I get Standard or High Flow pump.
2. Replace the cover kit (part AF56910040)
3. Replace just the O ring (part AF92200270)

Thanks,

Mark

It could just be a pump seal. I would suggest closing off your gate valves and just taking it into a pump service store and getting it replaced. A relatively minor fix.

You can always talk to the techs at Beachcomber. Are you under warranty still Mark?

I agree with Steve.  It could very well just be the seal.  Something else to check would be the pipe barb which threads into the bottom of the face plate.  It is where the braided line attaches.

As Steve said it more than likely your Seal. It could also be the O-ring on the pump connection since that is the only connection that doesnt  use a O-ring/gasket.

Thanks guys.  I am out of warranty. The Beachcomber techs recommened trying to replace the 0-ring and the Wear Ring.  So I am going to give it a try, found the parts localy.
