This morning I got in the tub and found my circ pump was noisy.....sounded almost like it was struggling a bit. My Vanguard H/S spa is 2.5 years old. Anyone know the normal life span of the circ pump, and are they hard to replace?
Thanks,

I would call your dealer and have him check it out. The pump will still be under warranty. There are a few things that can cause a noisy pump. One is that it is going out.

I thought the tub only had a 2 yr warranty? Am I wrong?

You should have 5 years on that part.

Yes, you are incorrect. You have a Five Year Warranty on a Hot Spring - that is if you bought it new.

There is a new style pump, the Silentflo E5. Its uses less electricity and pumps more water then the old Silentflo 5000. So, hopefully it should be a free upgrade! ;)

I've heard that circ pumps increase their life span by a factor of 2 when they are installed where they were intended, in the colon tract!

Back to the original question, I also have a 2003 Jacuzzi J-340 and also notice over the past several weeks that the circ pump has become noticibly louder. I removed the side panel and touched the pump and it was hot enough to where I could only keep my hand on it for about 5 seconds. Since it never made noise before, I never had touched it to see if it had always been that hot. Any thought from the experts! What is the average life for a circ pump? Jacuzzi says it is a 24 hour pump, does that mean it is truely running 24/7?
Thanks in advance for anyone's input.
