Title: Mold on pillows
Post by: jgirvine on April 21, 2008, 06:38:53 am
Have a small D1, 3 person spa.  Use the Liesure Time Bromine products.

We use it once or twice a week.  We are starting to get a real mold problem above the water line.

Last time we changed the water we really shocked it and then used the shocked water to scrub with a strong brush above the water line, then rinsed and changed the water.

We had not used the spa in about 2 weeks.  Opened it up last night and there was black mold all over the spa pillows....MAJOR YUK.

Help please.
Thanks
Ginny

Even if you don't soak, it's a good idea to open the cover up a few times a week.

You can try to add a shock dose of dichlor with the cover closed for the mold above the waterline.

Can I use dichlor with a bromine tub?

Thanks

Absolutely, when using bromine you can shock with either MPS or dichlor. I advise people to use MPS under regular circumstances but use dichlor when the water quality slips or when the usage was heavy that week (be proactive).
