OK, I ruined the last thread--sorry Chris. Let's start over by showing pictures of our equipment compartment. It would be great to see many different manufacturers and models here.
How about some pictures of various models from: HotSpring, Sundance, LA, Jacuzzi, Caldera, D1, Marquis, Colman, Arctic, Artesian, Catalina, Master, Cal Spas, Sea Monkey, Thermospa, Robert's Hot Tubs, Costco Platinum Elite (I would like to see this one), Bullfrog, Beachcomber, Dynasty (Bill), Vita, Gulf, Baja, Emerald, PDC, Royal, United, Tiger River, Hotspot, Solana, Hydrospa, Southwest, and Haven (sorry, didnt' want to exclude anyone), and any others I left off the list. ÂÂ
Let's be nice and keep this from the dead file. I'll start:
2005 HotSpring Envoy
(http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d25/Gomboman/under_hood_a.jpg)
-
Could you also add the make and model along with the pictures?
Any chance at getting a few models from each company....maybe a Vista to go with the Envoy or do they look the same?
-
Dimension One, Chairman II:

I like the looks of that D1 compartment. Very neatly done.
-
Not going to take any pictures of my Envoy's compartment just yet. Just installed SpAudio II on it... those little pink strings are a pain.

What does that mean?
-
It means I'm very anal about things and I think you'd laugh at my Envoy's equipment compartment.
It's a fun install, though. My Watkins RSM helped me put it in.

So you were the installer; I didn't get that part at first.

I love gate valves!!!!!

The D1 compartment looks beautiful.
What are the factory installed pink strings used for in my picture? Also, what is the large black flexible hose on the right side of the screen? All for spa audio?
Let's see some more. I would love to see inside a Costco Platinum Elite and a Sea Monkey cabinet.

id love to see the inside of a jacuzzi 385 and 470. can anyone help out?

Very nice Markee.
Can one of our Marquis representatives show us inside an Epic? Thanks in advance....

I'd also like to see the Epic.
Also,
Dove Canyon or Piper Glen
Geneva or Elation
Maxxus or Optima
Serena Bay or Lotus Bay
Vista or Grandee
Show em' if ya got em'
-
As soon as I get my digital camera rollin, I'll throw up a Tahitian pic if no one else does before hand. Smaller version of the Geneva, but has the same pumps and inards so possibly the same setup.
-
I could put one of our Optima up, but don't expect the squeaky clean showroom look- ours is over 3 years old and has a speck or two of dust inside.
No critters though, thankfully.
I'd have to find some place to put the photos, though.
-
No Marquis dealers with a digital camera? I would love to see inside an Epic. A Caldera Geneva or Tahitian would be nice to see also.  :)
-
Gombo: I can take one when I go back into work on Saturday.
-
Here is the inside of my Epic, but I didn't have a wide angle lens and these are close up shots, sorry but it will take 3....

And I have a question now looking at your phots, Gombo. It looks like the controls on your Envoy are on the outside of the tub..do you also have a set of controls inside of the tub? I don't remember that when I was looking last year. Â :-/
-
Bonibelle,
All Hot Spring spas except the Jetsetter have the both an external and interior control panel. The interior panel doesn't control the temperature, but allows you to adjust the lights, jets, and stereo sound (if equipped).
-
Thanks, I think that is a great feature...I guess I wasn't in tune to that when I was looking, since I don't remember it at all. :-/
-
Anyone recognize this model?

Looks like a "Warning JED 103 DCS Hydro Quip" ;)

Interior of my 2006 Reflections Granada made by DM Industries who also makes Vita. Don't know if Vita interiors are similar but would presume so.

It is full foamed but the foam extends to the sides once you get beyond the equipment area so it is really fullfoamed on 3 sides while the pumps no doubt keep this side toasty when it is on.
Not as clean looking as some of the others perhaps although I suspect they would look similar if you removed the shell used to create the equipment space. But it is kind of busy in there with 4 pumps, ozonator, heater, gate valves and control box.
-
Bonibelle: The controls on a Hotspring are mainly on the outside, there is no LCD on the inside that display temperature, only buttons for the jets and the lighting. If I'm not mistaken, up until a couple years ago Hotspring had no controls on the inside of the spa.
Gombo: Bonibelle beat me to it, but here is a pic of a 2 pump Marquis system, this is actually the Destiny model, but the panels are nearly identical:

-
Markee, are those the new "critter guards" on the bottom?
-
Boni: Yup, they started adding those at the end of last year.
-
We made our own, but I think everyone should know about them and maybe Marquis offer them for sale. I wouldn't want to be the service tech that opens up to a nest of hornets or have a mouse hotel under my tub!
-
Here's a picture of my '05 Marquis Reward's equipment compartment:

-
Phil needs critter guards! Phil is your deck wood stained? Or is it composit material? It looks great!
-
NE-Phil: That's a clean looking compartment.
Boni: That is a good idea. I'm sure they are available to order through your dealer if you wanted the factory spec screening.
-
Wow, thanks for the pictures Bonibelle, Markee, and Phil. Marquis has a very clean setup.
OK, I would love to see a late model Caldera compartment. Maybe Chas, Sandiego, Double A, or someone else could snap a picture for us.
-

Bonibelle,
Yeah! I do need critter guards. And I didn't even know it. Looks like I'll have to dig up some aluminum screening. I'm sure it's in my workshop...somewhere....???
Thanks. It's not stained wood. It is composite. One year old now and yes, it looks very good. I have a friend who built a wooden deck. It's about 10 years old and looks it. I'm hoping to avoid that rustic but splintered and discolored look! ;D ;)

OK, I have to say that D1 has the cleanest Equipment compartment so far. I would like to see a few more though.
Come on Sundance and Caldera fans, show us what's under the hood.
-
Beachcomber 750. I was changing the water over the weekend so you will see the garden hose coming out of the drain.
I took a shot to include the step away from the tub, I was cleaning the tub so those are some cleaning supplies.

wetone, can you show us a picture with the other panels open, so we can see the pumps, etc.?
-
There are none! All heat, jet action, etc. is supplied by a small nuclear reactor(the cylinder on the right) Overkill? Perhaps. Dangerous? Maybe. But it makes nice hot water!

Hymbaw,
Thanks for posting the photo. The Optima is on our short list and I've been curious what the inside looks like. Thanks.
-
Thanks for the recent photos. We've seen most of the major brands except for Caldera. Any Caldera owners out there with a digital camera?

Since we are looking at Caldera's I would also be interested. Isn't SanDiego a Caldera dealer?

So, why can't we see the equipment compartment on the Sundance? There are 2 panels there with pumps, etc. behind them, to the right and the left of the one with the control box. Your answer about the reactor was cute, but show us one with those panels open.
-
Not trying to dissappoint the conspiracy theorists out there, but I didn't post the pics to begin with. Don't have access to a digital camera right now. Talk to wetone

I'm jealous pg. Very nice looking compartment.

Webboy,
Thanks for posting the internals of a Bullfrog, I really gotta get with the times and buy a digital camera :-[
So far in my opinion, I think D1 has the best looking or neatest equipment compartment

Not a problem, happy to do it!
My vote is for the old school Leisure Bay  :)

I have a 2006 Caldera Geneva and I have pics of the compartment but am to stupid to figure out how to post a pic. Â Help...................... :'( :'( :'(
-
Haven't been on the boards lately, but I did take a pic about a month ago for this thread, heh. I think I win "dirtiest/most unorganized" :) But it is a '91, after all.

And on a side note, I have no idea what this thing hanging down is. Anyone? Hope it's not important...

That is your air check valve for the air intake on your jets. There is a plastic clamp that holds it in place above the water line. It has probably broken off so you will need to get something to hold it above your water line. If your check valve stops working it will leak.
-
Wow, I'm impressed. I have a united spa ( unknown model) and my pump and heater are mounted on pressure treated lumber. nothing like what yours all look like. Digital pictures coming soon so you can all get in a good laugh.

Slappy I feel your pain dont think that you are worse of than me. I have to fight spiderwebs before I can see my  pumps.I was to embarest to show the hole thing.
But on the upside what can you expect for the 400$ I paid.

"But on the upside what can you expect for the 400$ I paid. "
hot tub Frank,
I got you beat there. I got my tub for free. If I knew how to post a pic here, I would. Winds let down today and I got some really good tub shots.

$600 for mine :D

Yep, I think the D1 compartment looks the best so far. It's a very clean layout.

Actually Frank, I didn't. This thing is a dinosaur compared to most of the tubs I see on here, but it was amazingly clean (inside and out). Other than the skirting was built upside-down and the pump wiring was backward, there wasn't much to do to it.

Let's start over by showing pictures of our equipment compartment
Since we don't use an equipment compartment and the spa is accessible from all four sides, there is no "compartment" to show. Still, I'll do my best.
Hard hat not included. Shot from test bay, where the hat is a nuisance to wear when poking into the underbelly of the spa. Not sure what model this is. Controller is on the left in this photo, so you're looking at an end view.
These are some unedited photos of a Fox, our smallest model, as that was what was going down the line today. This looks like a Signature, our lowest jetting level. Because they have not yet reached the finish area, the spas may contain untrimmed foam or other objects, such as hard hats. :)
The two above shots are the "compartment". Only one pump in this one. Not nearly as pretty as some of the others, for sure, but done that way for a purpose.
And a setpiece from our website:
Sorry that I wasn't able to get pretty shots of a finished, customer-ready unit, but we are a factory, after all. Next time someone has the doors off a showroom unit, I'll grab the camera again.

Beautiful interior picture of a Coleman Spa Model 471, lovely Galvalume Metal Frame, rock solid ABS Pan, huge 56 Frame pumps, two inch manifold pumping and many other sights to behold.
The spa box, has internal plugs, sealed cover to keep the electronics dry during an over flow situation.

Helios,
The inside of your 2007 Helios looks different than mine. I'll try to snap a pic tonight or tomorrow. I think mines laid out a bit differently, if I remember correctly, and my pumps are Red.
