Title: Duffman returns... after 2 years of soaking
Post by: Duffman on November 12, 2007, 03:08:54 pm
It's been two years since finishing my "How to Buy a Hot Tub" consumer advocacy project and I just wanted to check in to say hi to everyone. Cool to see so many familiar names and signatures here.

Thanks again to everyone who helped me and contributed to my research. The most important lesson I learned is that there is no such thing as a "best spa"... However, with a little research and wet testing anyone can find the best spa for their needs.

For those seeking information on how to buy a hot tub I would like to share my 2005 report entitled, "Portable Spa Wet Testing & Analysis."

Please take a look at the Introduction sections as they focus on two key factors for any prospective buyer:
1) How to buy a hot tub (not what hot tub to buy)
2) Wet Testing Advice

So what's happened in the last two years? I still am very happy with the Jacuzzi I finally selected (J385) and continue to use it regularly. It looks and works just as well as the day it was set up. I rinse the filters every 1-2 weeks and drain/refill the spa a few times each year. To date I've had exactly zero maintenance/performance problems with the hot tub. The filters and even the headrests still look like new.

Take care everyone and happy soaking!

Soaking for 2 years?  Do you resemble a raisin?  ;D

Nice work on your project!   Thanks!
