Title: My wife needs a booster for the spa
Post by: solo on November 02, 2007, 08:42:05 pm
She's not tall enough for some of the seats.  Any suggestions?

Doc sells some.  I thought about getting one, but never bothered.  I keep the water level a little lower and don't really need one that way.  If you get one keep me posted on how she likes it.

Solo,
I have a feeling I may have that problem too.  5'2''.  My tub is warming up now.  Have you found anything that you like?

I haven't started shopping for one yet.  Was just looking for suggestions.  My wife doesn't use the spa much.  It's mostly for my chronic pain syndrome.

But I' m thinking if I get her a booster to where she can use every seat, she might use it more.

Pay attention to where the blow-up thingy is in relation to where/how you will be sitting on it.  I bought one for my kids to use and the plastic screw top  scratched my shell.  Now, mind you, the kids were kneeling on it, goofing with it, etc.  Not just sitting nicely on it, but I was still disappointed as I have some deep scratches in the seats now.   :(

My wife is 5'0" tall and my tub is 38" deep so I had a similar issue.  I bought one from Doc a good while back that was silver and you fill it with water.  It's 100% vinyl and did not have any way to scratch anything in the tub.  Worked great (even with kids bouncing around in the spa, throwing it, etc) until my 8 year old (at the time) decided he might be able to "bounce on it outside the tub the same way he did in the tub...Needless to say, he split it in half (but I don't think it was easy to bust).  Oh well, she only uses the spa about once a year anyway so...

I got one of these (http://www.rhtubs.com/store/miscacc.htm) (scoll down the page) from Doc.  I found it to float around a bit even when filled with water and purging all air so I have added some marbles and they are doing a fine job.

Why do you think she doesn't want to get in?

Maybe you could spoon feed her some of your ego. That should really boost her up and eliminate any need for any assistance in the tub. You asked for suggestions! ;)
